Someone with a thick Indian accent called me from a noisy background claiming to be from the "warranty team for my washing machine". When I asked which brand, she said "Hoover", but I told her I actually have a Hotpoint. She immediately ended the call. I’m pretty sure it’s an insurance scam. I've gotten loads of calls like this before. BT really should do something about these Indian call centres pretending to be UK landlines.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Domestic and General in Doncaster. Totally sounded dodgy, they struggled to get our name right and the accent was clearly not local. Definitely felt like another scammer trying their luck.

But today, they called at 1.07pm, probably thinking shifting the time would get me to answer differently. I’ve told them loads of times I don’t have a warranty and don’t want one either.
