Similar to others, my wife had requested a complimentary brochure several months back. Since April, we have been receiving a relentless barrage of automated phone calls, at least once daily. On Tuesday 23 June at 18:40, I received a phone call from this particular number. The person on the other end claimed that I had filled out a form in the Daily Express for a complimentary pedometer. Initially, they tried to solicit a donation of £12 from me. When I declined, they proceeded to ask if I could contribute £6 instead. Even after declining once more, they attempted a final push, asking if I could donate £1. This situation raised suspicions for me as it felt like they were trying to obtain my bank information, which fortunately, they did not succeed in obtaining.
