I haven’t picked up but for the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting about three calls a day. They ring at the worst times as well; one even jolted me awake at 2 in the morning since I forgot to put my phone on silent after a tiring day at work. No doubt, I’m blocking that number asap!

Just like everyone else here, I gave a donation to UNICEF through text and now I’m getting loads of calls every day. I don’t pick up because they always ring at really bad times, plus I don’t want to be hassled like this. I give when I can, and I’m not in a position to set up a regular payment. If I wanted to, I’d get in touch with them myself. Unfortunately, I’ve had to block the numbers on my phone, which is a shame. UNICEF, please stop pestering people like this. It’s unfair to keep putting pressure on kind folks to keep giving.

UNICEF called me to explain all the awful things kids are going through worldwide. I was glad to hear from them once more, especially given the terrible stance of our UK government. My daughter had donations set up with them a couple of years back, but just now I got a really nice call from them again. I’m still happy to give what I can, unlike those posh Eton lads sitting in the Front Bench.

They were pretty polite, but honestly if she’d woken up from the ring I’d probably be heading over to their office fuming right now!

I gave some money after seeing a telly advert, and since then UNICEF hasn't stopped phoning me. During one call, I explained to the person that I prefer to give to various charities when I can afford it, and I didn’t want a regular direct debit set up. My donation was a spur-of-the-moment thing after seeing the ad. Despite that, he kept pushing, so eventually I just ended the call. Because of all the constant calls afterwards, I won't be donating to UNICEF ever again.

Been getting calls nearly all the time from UNICEF. Today alone, I got three calls and someone even came round my house asking about signing up for direct debit donations. Had a bit of a moan at her (though it's not really her fault, she’s just doing her job) but honestly, we can't sort out the world’s issues just by throwing money at it. I was told it’s UNICEF ringing to ask for a donation. Apparently they got my number because I gave money during the 2012 Olympics. I’m always wary of cold calls and have been scammed before. They’ve phoned me 8 times over 4 days, even on a Sunday. After digging a bit, it looks like it’s just a private call centre, maybe not even properly linked to UNICEF. If this is really how the charity raises funds, they don’t deserve my donation. Plus, this constant pestering has to break some consumer protection laws or charity regulations.
