This lot have been driving me mad, ringing me at least three times in the past week from similar numbers, all from the same source. Easiest thing to do (at least on an iPhone) is just block the number, which should be easy enough on most smartphones. Number showing up was 020 3837 8465.

I reckon this number is linked to some call centre nobody wants to deal with. It seems like these poor charities got stuck with a bunch of pushy idiots ringing up asking for donations. What really bugs me is they've got your info somehow! I'm pretty sure I never agreed for my details to be shared like that. Lol, this same number rang both my mobile earlier today and then my home phone later on. If it’s the RSPCA again, I’m seriously thinking of stopping my direct debit. Loads of different numbers kept ringing me, including this one, so I decided to download TrueCaller on my phone. Now, I can easily block those annoying calls without any hassle. The app even does a quick search online to show who’s trying to get hold of you, and you can help it learn too. Pretty handy little tool, really. Seems like one of those charity promotion groups, maybe some fundraising outfit? What really grinds my gears is how they seem to blow your donation on sending out letters and making endless calls, all just to drum up more money. Wouldn't it be far better if the cash actually went straight to the cause we wanted to support rather than this pressure tactic hoping we’ll give even more? From what I’ve seen, 'Listen' keeps coming up as one of those organisations that rubbish funds on these aggressive and dodgy fundraising methods. It makes me wonder why charities let these companies handle their donations like this. What kind of group profits from a nonprofit by putting together these overly dramatic and manipulative schemes? I sent a text to the number in the ad hoping to set up a monthly donation, but since then I get at least 4 calls every day. I was even about to arrange a direct debit online, but after seeing comments here saying donations mostly go on paperwork and not direct help, I’m not so sure now. Instead, I just buy food, collars and drop them off myself. It’s really a pity because the animals need vaccines, operations, and neutering, which is where the money should go. I put my name down on a petition to make dog fighting illegal on change.org, and since then, I’ve been getting calls non-stop from this number. I used to be on the other end of these calls, working for a London call centre hired by charities to ring up potential donors. They're not trying to scam anyone, but they will keep phoning you trying to secure a donation because that’s the job they’re paid for. Just so you know, giving out your sort code and account number doesn’t let someone access your bank account easily; it’s mainly used to set up a direct debit. The caller should also be able to provide a charity registration number, which you can check yourself to make sure they’re legit.
