Got a call from someone pretending to be an agent linked to the National Lottery. They said I’d been picked for 10 free lucky dip tickets. To get them, all I needed to do was verify some details (bit suspicious if you ask me). They started by reading out an old address of mine and asked if I wanted to update it. I told them I wasn’t comfortable and asked if they could send me a text with their info so I could verify who they were. Right after that, they hurried off the phone. So far, I haven’t got any message from them. Seems like a classic phishing trick if you ask me.

Got a phone call that was obviously a scam, trying to con me out of money. I reported it through Action Fraud to the police, but feels like just one person ranting doesn't do much. Still, I reckon everyone should report all scam calls they get so the police can build up a proper picture of what’s going on. If you search for 'Action Fraud' and find the police.uk website, you can go to the reports section and log it as a phishing scam. The best part is, you don't need to sign up or anything.
