When I asked her what brand my washing machine was or when I bought it, she couldn’t answer. Pretty clear she was trying to scam me out of cash. I just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call about insurance for my washing machine, with the bloke saying I was currently paying £400 and he could slash it to £200. He actually knew my name, address and even had a number from the directory. Who in their right mind pays £400 to insure a washing machine?! When I said no thanks, he asked if I had enough dosh to just buy a new one if needed. Seemed like he was fishing for people who might be easy targets. Honestly, just steer well clear of these scams.

Got a call from a woman with an accent I couldn't quite place. She actually knew my name, which threw me since my landline’s unlisted.
