It was so persistent that I was ultimately forced to power down my laptop in frustration. After restarting, I did a quick search for the number, and surprise, surprise-it turned out to be a scam! What a con! Just encountered a popup featuring an absolutely vexatious warning about “adware spyware virus.” Ha! They can’t even decide which nonsense it is, yet they’re handing out this number as a supposed solution. Granted, there’s a slim chance the number belongs to someone entirely unsuspecting; however, it’s worth noting it’s linked to a tech support crew-likely trying to peddle you some overpriced "assistance" if you linger on the line long enough, not to mention you’ll end up footing the bill for the call! If your browser’s being particularly bothersome, simply close it down instead of succumbing to the alarmist "You’ll be doomed if you don’t act now!" popups. Maybe send these jokers a bit of indignant energy and encourage them to consider a career that actually contributes to society.

I keep getting this incessant message urging me to call this number because "your computer is infected with a virus due to pop-up ads." So I decided to ring the number, only to be greeted by someone with a foreign accent (is it American?) and faced with a ridiculous menu:
'Hit 1' if you’re having a technical problem with your device
'Hit 2' if you need help fitting hardware to your PC or laptop...

Honestly, just power off your computer and restart it, or you'll be stuck in this endless loop. What an absolute pain in the neck…!
