I got a call from someone claiming to be a local energy advisor about insulation. They told me my loft supposedly has old-fashioned insulation, which I don’t understand how they even knew that. I mentioned there must be loads of staff working for them because I’ve had at least ten calls from different "advisors" saying the same thing. Also, I explained I live in a dormer bungalow, so I don’t have a loft - my bedrooms are exactly where a loft would be. The bloke did say thanks for my time before hanging up. Just got one of those insulation con calls again right before Christmas. The person on the phone claimed there were inspectors nearby checking insulation and mentioned some supposed government grant. They said their outdated records from 2018 indicated our loft insulation was inefficient. Thing is, we’ve done a loft conversion ages ago. Ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call again from some bloke who said his name was "Chris," trying that dodgy energy advice ploy. He said he was working locally, but the number showed up as a London one. When I asked what area he was actually servicing, he just cut the call straight away. This isn’t the first time either - in the last couple of years, I’ve had a bunch of calls from a "Chris" character. The numbers keep changing; used to get them from what looked like Bournemouth, now all of a sudden it’s a London code. Pretty sure the numbers are spoofed.

Got a call from some place calling itself the Eco Guidelines Centre down in south London. They were pushing a half price offer on loft insulation checks. When I asked for their company registration number, they just cut me off. Super aggressive, seemed like all they wanted was my bank and credit card info. Watch out for these lot!

this was my third time getting a call from this number. the bloke on the line claimed my loft insulation was out of date and might lead to damp and mould problems. when i asked what they recommended instead, he said they apply some sort of foam gel that sticks to the roof’s underside. i told him i already have a certificate signed by the council from an inspection within the past year, confirming everything meets building regs. after that, there was a long quiet on the other end and i ended the call. definitely a scammer trying it on.

He talked about issues with fibreglass insulation that I've never had any trouble with. The caller didn’t seem to know where I lived exactly and when I questioned him about it, the call suddenly went dead silent. They told me to ring back in half an hour.
