i got a call from someone with a strong asian accent saying they knew about a car crash i was in. when i asked them to give me specifics about the cars, they couldn’t answer properly. so i just ended the call. seemed fishy to me, like a scam or something.

Got a call from someone who said he was Miller, from the motor insurance bureau - verification claims team. He was talking about an insurance claim and mentioned the police were involved. I rang my insurance company straight away and they told me it was a phishing call and none of it was true. Definitely a scam.

was bored the other day so figured id play along with the claim they made about me bein in an accident. i ended up wasting nearly 10 mins on the call, then pretended the doorbell rang and told them to wait a moment. came back after 5 mins or so, and the line was totally silent. this little trick is pretty entertaining and im defo gonna use it again since they clearly dont delete your info when you ask them to.

I got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying he was Steve Harvey from some accident claims company. He said he’d got details from the motor insurance bureau and rang my dad, who’s 88 and had been in a crash recently. They tried to convince him to claim he had neck pain so he’d get money back by Christmas or something. I rang the insurance company myself and they told me it was a total scam, definitely not legit. Would seriously steer clear of these dodgy calls.

Today, on 24th September 2015, I received a phone call from an individual who asked for me by name. They mentioned a company name that I was not familiar with, but the word 'accident' was mentioned. The purpose of the call was to inquire about a car accident I supposedly had. However, given that it has been quite a few years since I had a car accident, and it wasn't even a serious one, I quickly realized that this must be some kind of scam. The caller had a strong foreign accent which further raised my suspicion. I promptly informed them to remove my number from their database and expressed my desire for them to refrain from contacting me again. In addition, it is important to note that I am registered on the TPS service, so if the call was genuine they should have checked this and not proceeded with the call.
