Got a call from someone who said he was Miller, from the motor insurance bureau - verification claims team. He was talking about an insurance claim and mentioned the police were involved. I rang my insurance company straight away and they told me it was a phishing call and none of it was true. Definitely a scam.

was bored the other day so figured id play along with the claim they made about me bein in an accident. i ended up wasting nearly 10 mins on the call, then pretended the doorbell rang and told them to wait a moment. came back after 5 mins or so, and the line was totally silent. this little trick is pretty entertaining and im defo gonna use it again since they clearly dont delete your info when you ask them to.

I got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent saying he was Steve Harvey from some accident claims company. He said he’d got details from the motor insurance bureau and rang my dad, who’s 88 and had been in a crash recently. They tried to convince him to claim he had neck pain so he’d get money back by Christmas or something. I rang the insurance company myself and they told me it was a total scam, definitely not legit. Would seriously steer clear of these dodgy calls.

Received a call today (24/9/15) from someone asking for me by name. They mentioned a company I didn’t recognise, with the word 'accident' mentioned somewhere in their spiel, and started questioning me about a car accident. Since I haven't been involved in any crashes for years, and the last one was nothing major, I immediately suspected a scam. The caller, who spoke with a thick foreign accent, got told to take my number off their list and never ring again. I’m on the TPS list, so if they were legit, they should have checked that before calling.

So ive got calls from this number a couple of times, no voicemail left or anything, but today I picked up and my voice sounded super weird, like echoey and there was a big delay repeating everything I said but much louder. Then they asked for my son by name and honestly its got me proper worried. What should I do now?

For five days straight, I get calls from the same number at the exact same time. Then they stop for five days, and it starts all over again. I never pick up, and there’s never any voicemail left. Throughout the day, I also get calls from a withheld number, coming in every hour like some sort of loop. I haven’t answered those either, and again, no messages left. I'm not sure if the blocked calls and the first number are connected, but it feels too weird to be just a coincidence. Yesterday, I got one call from that number and three from the withheld ones. So far today, no calls. Also, a letter arrived addressed to Bhupendra Jagatia, which I looked up online and found some odd info. Could these calls be linked to the letter? It was from Portal Financial. I’ve already told trading standards about all this.
