The person said they was calling from Google, but had a really strong Indian accent and there was a whole lot of background noise. I’ve been getting loads of calls like this lately, so I just ended the call.

So I got a call from the number 02037019724, and they said they were from Google, but sounded like they were calling from India. They told me my business listing hadn’t been claimed yet and warned it could get taken over by scammers if I didn’t act fast. Thing is, we sorted that ages ago and claimed our page ourselves. They wanted me to check some page called [#]google.inpin or something, but I wasn’t having any of it and just said no. Felt a bit fishy if you ask me.

I tried calling the number back but it just said the number can't take the call right now, please try again later. Honestly, it felt a bit dodgy to me. I wouldn't mess around with it - there's loads of scammers out there so better safe than sorry, watch yourself.

This number rang me recently, but it turned out to be redirected from a business contact found on Google. The bloke on the phone talked really quickly and had a strong Indian accent. He said he was calling from Google to assist with verifying a Google business listing. He never asked for any bank details or passwords, so it seemed legit enough. Twice this week, I got calls from an Indian bloke. He sounded quite polite and calm when I told him this number isn’t for business use! It’s so annoying because you can’t really tell if he’s legit or some scammer. Feels like they try to gather info just by chatting with you. The more time you spend on the phone, the more likely you are to get caught out. I’ve decided to block the number altogether now!

That was a call from Google business trying to check on my account, nothing dodgy about it. Didn’t expect Google to ring though, bit strange. I was a bit harsh to them at first, but now I feel a bit bad. All good in the end.

This was clearly a call centre, the woman on the phone had a strong accent and just wouldn't give up asking loads of questions about my business. Could've been anyone really. After a bit I just told her to stop wasting my time and if she kept on, I'd be telling her where to go.

Oddly enough, I reckon this one was legit! The caller wasn’t trying to sell me anything, just calmly explained how I could add extra details to my website. He even mentioned that I could find Google My Business on the app store. Then he just hung up. I usually get loads of dodgy calls from strange numbers but this one felt real. Still, I’d never blindly click on links or use command prompts from anyone claiming to be from Microsoft or similar.

Some guy rang claiming to be from Google askin if I was the owner of ###FHHHHHHFFTTHtFHrrnn. I told him yeah, but made it clear I don’t do cold calls and then just ended the call. Pretty sure Google wouldn’t be phoning me like that anyway.
