Got a call saying I had supposedly won an iPad through some competition I never even joined - I seen the ads before but figured it was a bit dodgy so never took part. Then the bloke suddenly dropped the iPad story and told me they'd upped my lottery wins chances by handing me 20 tickets. Really happy I stumbled across this because I was on the fence about whether it was a scam or not. I've had calls and messages from a woman with an Asian accent, so I guess it’s probably one of those scams. You know what they say, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. I’ve been getting loads of calls today, like six or seven from different numbers including 0203 7019257 and 0161 2448137. I didn’t pick up the first lot but the one from the 0161 code was from a woman claiming I’d won a draw for an iPad or £10,000. Thing is, they had an old email address of mine, which was shut down years ago after getting hacked, so that set alarm bells ringing right away. She said she was from ‘LOTTO SOCIAL’ and wanted me to sign up for lottery tickets and hand over my bank details. I told her I’d do my research on them first before giving anything out. That’s when I came across this site and noticed loads of people have had the same kind of calls, even the same Indian lady on the phone. Seeing the 0203 number listed here made me check my calls again and yep, there it was. Seems like they’re using multiple numbers, probably trying different ways to hook people in. I think the 0161 numbers are from Manchester, right? The whole thing is dodgy. They even knew my name, which is pretty creepy. No idea how they got that info - really worrying. As I’m typing this, I just got another call from a different 0161 number, 2448150. So far, that’s seven calls from three numbers today. I’d seriously warn anyone not to trust these ‘Lotto Social’ folks. Just be careful out there!

Got another one of those calls today from some rude person who kept saying I entered a contest to win an iPad or £10,000. I told them, are you daft? An iPad’s nowhere near £10,000! I never signed up for any of that nonsense anyway. Then they started on about some lottery thing. I told them straight I don’t bother with lotteries and I’m not interested. They actually had the cheek to ask why, like a simple no wasn’t enough. I just said firmly no again, not interested, then ended the call.

About a week or two back, I started getting loads of texts from LottoByText, PrizeFun, and FREEMSG. The weird thing is I never signed up for any draws or competitions online, so I got worried I might be getting charged just for receiving these messages. After a quick search, I found out these numbers can charge a lot for texts and it’s safer to send 'STOP' rather than just blocking them, as blocking might still incur charges. I did send 'STOP' to them, and they replied saying I was unsubscribed from all competitions. Then, someone else mentioned on here that sending 'DROP' would stop calls, but I was a bit suspicious it might make things worse, so I just stuck with 'STOP'. The messages stopped after that, but not long after, I got a call, which I ignored. The same call came through again today, and I ignored that too. Now I’m not sure if I should pick up next time to see if they know where they got my info from. Has anyone picked up when this number called (020 3701 9257) and found out if it costs anything to answer or if it racks up a bill? Would appreciate any info!

Been called two times so far by this 'Lotto Social' lot, or at least that's what the automated message told me when I tried ringing back. I dialled 141 before my number, hoping it’d stop the call from just going straight to someone on their end since I thought they might recognise the number. Both calls came in the afternoon - one just after tea time at 18:19, and the other closer to lunchtime at about 13:31. Definitely not what I was expecting!

I picked up and they asked if they were speaking to me. When I confirmed, they started talking about some competition I'd supposedly joined to win either £10,000 or an Apple iPad. I seriously don’t recall signing up for anything like that, and why would someone offer a choice between cash and a gadget? It’s always those fake lottery or freebie scams, where apparently they sell your details to other companies. Next time, I’ll be more cautious. Today I got a call from a woman saying I’d won the EuroMillions, which was pretty strange since I don’t have my number linked to any social media, and the phone contract’s actually under my mum’s name. I got five calls in total, then asked a mate to ring the number from his phone, but he dialled 141 before the number to keep his number private. When he called, an automated voice said “you are now connected to Lesotho,” then it just rang and he ended the call. I've been getting calls from this number repeatedly over the past few days, and today I finally decided to pick up. On the other end was a woman with a thick Indian accent, inquiring about someone I’d never even heard of. When I told her I had no clue who she was talking about, she asked for my name! I shot back that it was none of her concern and probed her about where she was calling from. Her response was a bit garbled, but it sounded something like "loxo social." However, from what I've gathered from others, it was likely 'lotto.' I promptly ended the call and blocked the number. Fingers crossed it’s the last I hear from them!

I got a call from this number while I was in my maths class at school, but I didn’t pick up because I was 14 and couldn’t talk then. Later on, during my break, they rang again and I answered. It was a young Indian lady who asked if I was there. I asked who she was after, and she repeated my name. I thought it was some kind of joke prank call, so I started messing about with her accent, saying anyone can prank call using a weird voice. I've been getting calls from 020 3701 9257 pretty much all day for the past few days. They keep telling me they can make me loads of money with some lottery scheme. They didn’t take no for an answer and it freaked me out because they already had my name, phone number, and email - which I never gave them. They even asked me for my bank info! I saw my partner telling this guy on the phone that she really wasn’t interested in joining any Euro Millions Syndicate. But he kept pushing with his sales pitch, trying to change her mind. Got a message saying if I didn't reply with DROP, Social Lottery would ring me. I ignored it and sure enough, they called that evening. When I answered, I told them to "hold on a sec" - my usual trick to waste telemarketers' time - put it on speaker, and carried on with what I was doing until they gave up and hung up. The woman on the line then shouted she hoped I knew that I was using my own airtime by keeping them waiting, then she ended the call. Since then, same company has called twice more while my phone was off, and then several times today at 10:48, 12:02, 12:56, 13:57, and 14:56 - I rejected every one. She’s really rude and pushy, and no matter how many times I tell her to stop calling, remove me from whatever list they’ve got me on, or even threaten to report them to OFCOM, she just keeps at it. She won’t give me any proper details like the company name or their address, so there’s no way to actually make it stop. It’s annoying because she’s clearly not going to persuade me to buy their lottery tickets, so I’m left thinking her company just enjoys bothering people for no reason. Like others have said before, this number, 02037019257, has been ringing me and my partner loads over the past few days, sometimes a bunch of times in a day. When I picked up one time, all I got was a recorded voice chatting about a lottery, so I just ended the call. We’ve now put both our mobiles on the Telephone Preference Service list, since that really helped cut down the rubbish calls we used to get on our landline. Just like Helen, I got a call from 02037019257. I picked up and it was this Indian woman trying to rope me into some Euromillions syndicate deal. Sounds exactly like what Anna mentioned, probably that social lotto scam. I didn’t bother with it, just ended the call and put the number straight on my block list. - caller ID said: Social lotto

I’ve been receiving a few calls throughout the day, and all that’s happening is someone repeatedly saying my name. Whenever I inquire about the reason for their calls, they simply hang up. Quite peculiar, to say the least!

Don’t be misled - 020 3 numbers aren’t genuine London landline calls like the 020 7 and 020 8 codes; they're typically budget-rate lines used by those incessant telemarketers and con artists. It’s best to ignore these calls entirely and not waste your time calling back. Just add them to your block list and be done with it!

Got a call from a number and wasn’t sure who it was, so I rang back after hours. The voicemail said the name Social Lotto, so I guess that’s who’s been calling.

So, it turns out they’re some sort of lottery group. I said I wasn’t interested, and this young lass on the line got really pushy and rude. She brought over her manager and started moaning about me not wanting to chat without putting the phone down - overheard the whole lot! When I mentioned I’d report them to Ofcom, the manager suddenly got all polite and wished me a nice evening but still refused to tell me their company name. Proper scammers, honestly.

I've no idea who this person is, but they keep ringing and won’t pick up when I answer. When I attempted to ring them back, it just said, "sorry, calls to this number can’t be connected." Seems a bit shifty, if you ask me!
