I got a call from someone claiming to be with o2, saying they’d sort out a discount on my phone bill. I told them I recently signed up for a new contract, so they should stop calling me. Right after that, they just ended the call. Proper weird!

Had a call from someone named PC Andrews, said he was with the Met Police in London but the number was blocked. He told me my ID had been used to start a Crypto account and started asking me loads of questions. Then, another call came from a guy called Thomas Wilson FCA, using a different number but it looked dodgy. I checked with the real Police and they told me straight up, it’s a nasty scam and to watch out for these sorts of calls.

Someone rang claiming they were from O2, saying they were installing a new mast that's causing issues and my SIM card isn’t working properly. I challenged him, saying there’s no way he could call me if that were true, and then he switched up his story, saying the SIM would stop working in a few days and they’d be sending me a replacement. I told him I wasn’t buying it, and then he started going on about how he’s like my son and I’m like his mum. I just ended the call straight away!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Deliveroo, saying they needed to update our Deliveroo tablet for business. Foolishly, I gave them my email, and it ended up getting hacked, along with all my other accounts. Just a heads up to be really cautious with these calls!

Got a message from someone claiming to be O2 with an offer of 40% off my bill plus free Apple gadgets. Thing is, I haven't been with O2 in over four years. They send you a code to 'verify' your account. I played along for a while and challenged them, they’re really persistent and don’t just hang up like most scammers. The text warns you not to share the code with anyone, even O2 employees, which is quite hilarious really 😂

I was really puzzled by that phone call - towards the end I think they said they were some sort of life insurance agent trying to offer a better deal. They kept pushing me to check my bank details and ask for papers from my provider. They were super persistent even after I told them I wasn’t interested. Then when I looked up the number and said I didn’t think they were actually from Aviva, they got quite defensive.

Got a call out of the blue, picked up and it sounded like a call centre. I could hear the person chatting about childcare grants and ways to cut living expenses, but no one was actually talking to me. I just listened in for a bit then ended the call - can’t believe people have the nerve!

Then I asked where he had got my number, and he just said, "I’m f*cking telling you I got authorisation."
