Today I got a call from a firm claiming to be Appliance Breakdown, saying my kitchen appliance insurance was up for renewal. The woman knew my wife’s full name and our address, but then asked for my name. I wouldn’t tell her until she explained exactly what was insured. She named my cooker, oven and washing machine. Someone rang me about home appliance cover, said they were from UK Appliance Direct or something like that. The lady spoke with a proper English accent.
