Someone rang me claiming to be from community fibre, offering a load of discounts if I signed up straight away. They were really pushy and kept saying they couldn’t email me the direct debit form, insisting I give my bank info over the phone. I was about to, but something felt off. A) I never asked about community fibre. B) How did they even get my number? C) Why won’t they send the details by email? So, I told them to ring me back after I’ve done some digging about the provider online.

Some bloke rang me when I was in the middle of something and started pressuring me about my current broadband supplier. He seemed really keen to find out who I used. I told him I was busy right now and couldn’t talk. Then he got a bit annoyed and asked why I apparently signed up to get alerts for community fibre. I don’t remember doing that at all. I asked him for a number to ring back on, and he just hung up on me. To me, it felt like a scam. A proper caller would be polite and ask for a better time to ring back. Anyway, I’ve blocked the number now.
