Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, when I answered there was nothing but silence, which felt pretty dodgy. Figures it’s probably some sort of scam. Looked it up on here and decided to block it right away.

I got a call from a woman who sounded foreign, she was asking to talk to the house owner about some kind of insurance for the washing machine. I told her I thought she was trying to scam me, which seemed to annoy her. I wasn’t having it, told her what I really thought and then ended the call.

Some lady with a bit of a funny accent phoned and asked if I was the homeowner. I replied with "good afternoon" even though it was just 10 in the morning here! She then just hung up straight away.

got a call from this number at about 1:04 today. not long before that, i had a ring from 0203 630 2953, and i reckon both calls are linked, probably from the same telemarketing firm. both times, there was just silence on the other end and then the call dropped. looks like they’re trying out new numbers and maybe watching this site to see if folks complain. i’m sure loads more people will get calls from these lot - stay cautious!

This same number rang me again today at 1.58pm, but it was a woman this time, sounded like she had a European accent. She wanted to talk about appliance insurance. I told her I've lost count of how many times I've had these calls about warranties on white goods and insurance, and reminded her cold-calling like this is actually illegal here.
