UK Preference are now ringing from 01924 601 034, a Wakefield area code. They actually dare to say if you want to opt out press 5, which ends up just calling them back. We've already put our number on the TPS list to block stuff like this. When will the government actually do something to put an end to these annoying calls?

Today has been quite the journey! I've had a staggering seven phone calls, and during one of them, I ended up speaking to a supervisor after the initial caller claimed she couldn’t grasp my response. Saving Preference keep ringin me loads of times a day, but with different people each time. When I ask them to stop calling, they just ignore it. I tried ringing 1471 and found two numbers linked to them: 02384441121 and 01418118888. Asked to be removed from their list, but one bloke said it wasn’t his problem. When I asked who to contact, he just said it's a free country and he can ask me questions. I told him to buzz off and hung up. Honestly, there needs to be a way to stop these lot from pestering people on the phone like this.

19/8/2015 We've had about 13 calls over the last couple of days even after asking them to stop. They just ignored it. At one point, my husband actually blew a referee's whistle down the phone! Eventually he decided to play along and answered their questions with the biggest load of rubbish I've ever heard. Since then, no more calls, but I reckon it’s only a matter of time before they ring back. He’s thinking of contacting companies like BT, Virgin and the others mentioned in their survey to let them know we won’t be using their services because they’re connected to Saving Preference.

Savings Preference must have rung us at least 500 times in the past year, sometimes up to five times a day. I've told them to stop probably over 50 times now. The callers are always Indian, Pakistani, or Bengali. They never give their real name and say they just need a minute for a few questions. Then they seem to pass on your details, so you end up getting calls from loads of other firms too. I've asked them to cease a ton of times but it makes no difference.

Got a call today from someone named 'David' on the 14th of July at about 8.30pm, saying he was from 'Saving Preference'. The number they used was 0203 457 3122. I usually get bombarded with these kinds of calls, like at least three or four each day, and it has been like this for ages now, though not sure exactly how long. I seem to receive calls from this number multiple times each day. When I answer, it appears to connect me to an individual; however, if I remain silent, the call promptly disconnects, suggesting it is a systematic operation managed by a computerised call centre. The person on the other end often struggles with their English, which makes me suspect they might be under significant pressure to achieve targets. I can’t help but feel a bit of sympathy for them. Unfortunately, the incessant nature of these calls is really quite bothersome, and we can't afford to shrug it off. At times, they become rather aggressive and resort to profanity when I inform them I'm not interested in participating in their "surveys." The firm is called Saving Preference, and the managing director goes by Mark Owen. Just ring them back with the dates and times they phoned you and ask to be taken off their list. I tried this and now I’m waiting to see if they ring again, if they do I’ll consider taking it further. Best of luck everyone.

At first, it was surveys, and I've repeatedly asked to be taken off their calling list and just hang up, but they ring back right away, like every few minutes! Lately, I've been handing the phone over to my toddler, who loves playing with it. Now when they call, there's only silence before they hang up. I've reported these nuisance calls to both the ICO and OFCOM, and I'd advise others to do the same.

I can’t recommend it enough - the best £40 I’ve ever spent. Although the calls still come through, the phone intercepts them for you. You can block those pesky numbers for good afterwards, which is a real bonus!

What an absolute nuisance this has become! I refuse to believe that the phone providers are utterly powerless in this situation. Surely, there must be a way for them to cut these calls off, right? We’re inundated with these tormenting rings at least a couple of times daily, and it’s oftentimes just silence on the other end or an incomprehensible voice. To be honest, I can't quite decipher the name of the firm that’s bothering us, but their accent definitely hints at Indian roots.

To stave off those pesky calls, we've invested in a compact phone blocker that you can easily purchase. Absolutely a worthwhile expenditure! Although this particular number continues to ring (I can monitor the incoming calls on my device), fortunately, it doesn't actually get through to the phone. You might want to give the tactic a go of blowing a raucous football whistle into the receiver when THEY decide to chat. Who knows, it might just put them on the back foot! :)

I got a call today from a number starting with 044, it was some Home and Lifestyle sales pitch. We told them we weren't interested and just ended the call.
