Got a call from some bloke saying he was Shaun, claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. Sounded like he was shouting over traffic, like on a busy road or something. When I asked him to spell his name and which branch he was calling from, he couldn’t give me a proper answer. He wanted me to pay £40 for an upgrade on my contract. Told him I already have one, and he said he knew but I could get a new deal. When I said no, he got all annoyed and just hung up on me.

Got a call from some bloke called Steve, quite surprised it was an Indian accent. From Carphone Warehouse, the usual nonsense. He kept asking me what phone I had and how much my bill was. I said I’d just pop into the shop for my upgrade thanks, and he went on about how it’d be cheaper with him on the phone and all that rubbish. Honestly nowadays you just don't know who to trust, it’s so easy to accidentally hand over your info to someone pretending to be legit. The downside is now even genuine calls are eyed suspiciously, making things a pain for everyone.

They claimed to be working with all the big phone providers about some upgrade offer. I asked how they got my number, but she wouldn’t tell me. When I requested to be removed from their marketing database, she said she couldn’t but insisted it was about the upgrade. When I mentioned it’s a legal requirement under GDPR to take me off if I don’t want marketing calls, she just disconnected. Total SCAM.

Got a call from someone asking about my phone contract. Funny thing is, I just finished my contract with Virgin Mobile and even though I’ve already said no to marketing calls, I keep getting hassled by people who seem to know I’m off contract and think I want a new contract. Feels like either Virgin Mobile is leaking customer info or their sales team is ignoring my ‘no marketing’ requests. Heard some others were told it was from Carphone Warehouse. It really is annoying and could well be a dodgy scammer trying to trick you into giving bank details when you sign up with them.

They keep claiming they're from Carphone Warehouse, and I've asked them over 5 times to stop calling me. Had enough recently and warned them I’d report it as harassment, and the guy just said "do what you want". They clearly know I’m not interested in whatever they’re pushing but just won’t stop. I've blocked their number, but they keep ringing from different ones, all beginning with 0203. Looks like I’ll be stuck blocking forever until they run out of those 0203 numbers.
