Got a call from a bloke with a posh English accent pretending he’s from some National Law enforcement or something. He said I’ve got a lawsuit against me and my NI number’s been put on hold right away. Told me to press 1 if I want to chat to the “officer.” Weird thing is, two days back I got a call from a different number saying the exact same thing with the same recording. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

My 93 year old mum, who's almost deaf, got a call from someone who said they were from the War Office about her partner’s war grave - he died back in 1943. No idea what she agreed to since she can hardly hear. I called the number back and it sounded like some call centre in India. Really suspicious.

On 7th June 2019 at about 11.44am, I got a call from the number 020 3477 3015. A man with a British accent left a recorded message saying that there was some legal action against me and that my National Insurance Number was supposedly frozen. They told me to press 1 to talk to the case officer assigned to me. I figured if I had pressed 1, I might have been charged a high phone fee or been asked for sensitive info. So I just ended the call. I've since reported this to Action Fraud.

Got a robo call saying Legal action was being taken against me. It told me to press 1 to speak to a caseworker. When I pressed, it went straight to a call centre and they asked if I was Mr x. Then they wanted my birthday, but I refused to say and they just ended the call.

This so-called "Law Enforcement Agency" thing is clearly a con, just like others mentioned. I didn’t hit 1 or anything like that! I’m in my seventies myself and get a bit annoyed at some of the comments being all patronising, as if older folks always get fooled. Typical scam call claiming to be from the police. They’ve been ringing loads since 6th June. If you’ve got elderly family members, make sure to tell them about it. Don’t fall for their tricks and always ask for help. The number usually appears on your home phone’s caller ID, so best just to ignore it.

Some bloke claiming to be 'John William' calling from abroad has been ringing my 78 year old mum non stop on this number, telling her her national insurance number’s been stolen and used for hiring cars and dodgy deals worth around £850,000. He says he’s from the NI protection agency and wants to freeze her NI number, but first he demands she buys a £1000 WH Smiths voucher and waits for what to do next. Proper nightmare scam, scaring old people to bits - the poor woman got 31 calls from him today alone!

I got a call from a guy with an African accent who surprisingly knew my name. When I gave him a fake one, he rudely told me to shut up and accused me of lying! He claimed there was a warrant for my arrest and that my National Insurance would be frozen or something like that. Then some bloke with an accent not from around here picks up. When I asked what his name was and why he’d called, he wanted me to say my name first. I told him no way, he’s the one who rang me, so he should say who he is, sounded like a total con artist, and warned I’d report him to the cops. His response? Called me a “b###” - classy, right? I've been getting calls from this number as well as another starting with 00144203. It's always some robotic voice with that typical automated tone telling me HMRC are taking legal action against me. Just today, they added that my National Insurance number had been blocked. I never pick up or reply to these calls since it’s obvious a scam, but I worry some people might panic and hit 1 to talk to an ‘advisor’. The smartest move is to just ignore them altogether. I keep my phone on answerphone mode so I can avoid these junk calls, especially since the TPS doesn’t seem to stop them.

Someone rang my elderly mate, who's in her 80s, and started making really inappropriate comments about wanting to have sex with her. She was pretty shaken up by it. Luckily, I told her the call came from over 200 miles away in London, so she doesn’t need to worry. Just a heads up to watch out for stuff like this.
