Got a call about appliance insurance, they even knew my name. Said the washing machine warranty at my place was about to finish. I told them mine was barely 3 months old, so I didn’t see how that added up. Then, out of nowhere, he just ended the call.

Picked up the phone but they stayed quiet for a good 5 seconds, so I figured it probably wasn’t anything urgent.

I reckon these calls are probably coming from places like Calcutta, which is famous for its massive call centre industry. Back in 2015, there were about 350,000 people working in call centres there, so I can only imagine how many there must be now in 2019. Best thing to do?
