About three months back, I got a call from Capital Holiday concerning an all-inclusive getaway I enjoyed last year. Initially, I was somewhat reluctant to share any of my personal details. However, fast forward three months, and I've just received my compensation-a whopping £1500! I can wholeheartedly endorse their service to anyone considering it. Trust me, this isn't a scam; they're a legitimate claims management firm.

The Capital Holiday Group merely operates as a claims agency. It's quite amusing to see all the complaints from individuals here; it really seems like some folks are being a tad overzealous. I mean, one person was irate about a mistaken postcode? How utterly absurd!

Yesterday I got a call about a holiday I took last year that was awful. They mentioned all this stuff about ATOL and knew exactly where I’d stayed. They even said I was owed around £700 compensation and had my name and address! The call came from a blocked number though. I’m honestly worried now since they had so much info about me. What do you think could happen since they knew these details? Mine was definitely from some unknown number!

I’ve just had a rather alarming call from Capital Holidays, claiming they’re reaching out about some supposed compensation for our holiday from last year. They mentioned there were various complaints concerning the quality of food and hygiene during our stay. Strangely, they had my husband’s email and our birth dates as they’ve already emailed him earlier today, providing a reference number for their claims. It’s quite concerning, to say the least! I’ll definitely be blocking any further communications from them.

Roughly two months ago, I received a rather odd call regarding a holiday that I had never raised any issues about, which naturally raised my eyebrows. Despite my initial doubts, the callers didn't request any banking information or personal details that could be exploited, so I decided to engage with it a bit further. I was then referred to High Street Solicitors, a firm based in Manchester, and after doing a bit of research and having several conversations with them, I can confirm they are completely above board. It seems that the Capital Holiday Group is merely acting as an intermediary, directing calls to legitimate professionals, so there's no cause for alarm. By the way, has anyone out there ever been put in a position where they had to give out banking info or any sensitive data during such calls?

Just got a call claiming I might be owed compensation for an all inclusive holiday I supposedly took in the past 3 years. I asked them which holiday they meant since I’ve been on quite a few, but they couldn’t give me a straight answer. They said it was about a refund from travel agent fees, but I told them I never booked through an agent. Then they just ended the call on me!

I had my suspicions about that sketchy bloke! He attempted to verify an ancient postcode of mine from a holiday I booked ages ago, which immediately raised red flags for me!

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be with the Ministry of Justice about a compensation thing linked to ATOL and wanted my info. I asked for his name since I genuinely work for the MoJ and told him I’d send the details through our secure email system. He just ended the call straight away!!! (And honestly, I do work for the MoJ, not making it up).

Got a call from someone with a heavy Asian accent, claiming to be from the justice department and telling me I could get £1000 for an all-inclusive holiday. Said he was working with ATOL or something. Wanted my birthdate to send the "cheque" - total nonsense. As soon as I said no to giving any personal info, he quickly hung up. Creepy how he already had my name and address. What a dodgy scammer.

They don’t possess any of your personal information. All they have is your name, phone number, and postcode. It's baffling where they've sourced that from, but that's the extent of their knowledge. They may inquire about your details, and if you assert that they ought to have your information, they'll respond with some nonsense about customer service holding all your data, claiming they’re merely verifying details with the client. That’s a load of balderdash- they haven't got a clue until you spill the beans. They might dangle some enticing payout in front of you, like £1400 for your "discomfort" or £500 for your holidays, citing ATOL protection and complaints about appalling food and hygiene. The reality, however, is that there aren’t any other complainants- just a concoction of rubbish!

Got a call from some bloke with a Nigerian accent asking if I wanted a business loan. It all sounded a bit off and like he was calling from a noisy train station or something - I could hear announcements and lots of background noise. Best just to ignore and not pick up at all!

I received a phone call from this number not too long ago. There was a woman on the line with quite a thick accent. She went on about my recent holiday complaints, repeating herself endlessly. I let her know that I often jet off here and there and asked her which resort she meant. It seemed to fluster her a bit, and when I pressed her for more details, she abruptly ended the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call from some bloke abroad asking if I was my missus. I said, “Do I sound like a bird?” (I’m 6'2" and proper deep voice). He kept asking and I said it again. Then I asked what he wanted, and he said he was Tony something, from some accident claims company, wanting to chat about the crashes she’s had in the past few years. I told him “rubbish” and hung up. Seems they’ve switched their spiel from holiday scams to accident ones now.

Got a call today from a bloke with a thick Nigerian accent saying I owed £500 for an all-inclusive holiday from the last couple of years. He claimed it was because of loads of complaints about the food and how dirty the resort was. Thing is, I've never booked any holiday under my name. His accent was so heavy he garbled something that was meant to be my postcode, which I quickly corrected. Straight away I knew something was off. I refused to give him any more info. Honestly, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Plus, he had no clue where I supposedly went on holiday.

I just got a phone call from a bloke who said he was James from the AA, talking about some accident I had nearly ten years back. He reckoned he could help me pocket £3,500 for it. I told him I wasn't keen, and before I had a chance to check his credentials, he just cut the line. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call from this number saying I’m entitled to compensation for an all inclusive trip. Something about it felt off, so I asked him which holiday exactly and when it was. He said he didn’t have those details and needed to look it up. I told him if he was really calling for the company, he should already know that info and that I wasn’t interested in carrying on the chat.

Some bloke reading off a script, asking if I’d heard of ATOL protection and moaning about a hotel on an all-inclusive trip that supposedly qualifies me for a £500 payout. For a start, hotels don’t even come under ATOL - it’s a scheme to get you home and compensated if a tour operator goes bust. I told him to ring back when I’m free so I can have a proper go at him and explain exactly what a dodgy little tosser he is. Definitely a scam.

Today, I received a rather peculiar call, one that echoed some rather strange assertions. They claimed there were over twenty grievances and that I was entitled to compensation. Honestly, I found it all quite far-fetched. They didn’t specify the resort in question, but considering my experience at Sandals Grande Antigua, it’s hard to fathom there being even a single complaint! The caller appeared to lose her composure when I probed further, eventually asking me what she should do next. I simply suggested she reach out to someone else, as her whole spiel seemed utterly nonsensical!

But as per my usual practice, I let unknown numbers go to voicemail and take a peek at who’s been attempting to reach me later. Naturally, they've now been put on my blocked list. Good luck, Joseph, in trying to get past that! And by the way, a quick tip: be sure to guard your actual birth date and don’t share it with strangers! It’s just good sense!

Got a call earlier from a woman with a strange accent saying I was owed some money for an all inclusive trip I’d supposedly been on recently. I never go on all inclusive holidays. She seemed a bit pushy and not very pleasant.

I’d come across this number previously but decided to pick up today. A lady on the other end asked for my husband by name, so I simply mentioned that this wasn’t his mobile (didn’t reveal my own name, mind you!) and promptly terminated the call. That number’s now on my block list!

Today I got a call from someone asking about a holiday I’d taken in the past couple of years, saying I might be owed up to £1200 compensation. I’m not usually so trusting, but somehow I ended up giving him my date of birth - really kicking myself now! What’s even more concerning is that he seemed to have some info about my address, though not completely accurate. Just a heads up to everyone out there.

Some bloke rang me saying I was due £500 compensation for a recent all inclusive holiday. He started grilling me about where I stayed, what resort it was, and even mentioned something about ATOL and some hygiene issues at the hotel while I was there. I told him I’d been to that same hotel over six times with no problems, but he kept insisting I deserved compensation!! Then he asked for my date of birth and I refused. He said they just needed a few details to send the money. I said no way and ended the call!! THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM, DON’T ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS!!

Some bloke called asking about a holiday, so we pretended to chat but didn’t share any info. Then he just hung up! Come on people, don’t be daft. If it was really important, they’d leave a message. This dodgy number has been ringing every day this week with no message left.

I received a call today around midday from someone claiming to be from Thompsons, informing me of a holiday win. Coincidentally, we did have a booking with them, so I foolishly provided my email, date of birth, and other details. Now, I've come to the realisation that it was a scam. I'm now just biding my time for them to get back in touch.

Some bloke kept ringing me about some all inclusive holiday I supposedly booked last year. I was actually on a self catering boat trip. He kept calling me sir even though I’m a woman. Got fed up, told him off pretty harshly, then ended the call and blocked his number.

Just got a call from this number, and the person seemed to know loads about me - like my birthday, when I went away, which hotel I was at and all. He said someone from his office would ring back. Curious to see if they try to get my bank info or something.

Got a call about ATOL compensation. They claimed to be based in Brighton but were ringing from a London area code. When I asked to speak to the company’s official trading number, they transferred me to a ‘manager’ who barely spoke English. They insisted I went on holiday to Majorca in July 2015, but the strange thing is I only went there once back in 1996. When I pressed again for the number, they just hung up. They mentioned something like capitalholiday[###].

Got a call from someone claiming to be with HCA about holiday payouts. Straight away I told him to remove me from their calling list coz I was sick of their constant hassling. He asked how many times I’d been called, and I told him it was the fourth time, funny enough while I was actually on holiday. He said he’d get me taken off the list right away.

Received a call from this number, apparently linked to Capital Holidays yet again. I made it clear that I prefer not to handle such matters over the phone. It was a bit concerning how they had my email, address, and name at their fingertips. I insisted they send me a letter instead; curious to see how this pans out. It’s obviously a dodgy situation, though.

Got a call from a person saying I’m due compensation for an all-inclusive trip supposedly protected by ATOL. They couldn’t even say if it was from 2015 or 2016 or which holiday it referred to. The caller asked for my personal ID details before going any further. I told the bloke I reckoned it was rubbish and just folks trying to take advantage of the gullible. Honestly, these sorts of callers are not to be trusted for a second.

I received a call from a bloke named "Adam" not once, but twice in a single day. The first time, he claimed to represent Capital Holiday Group, trying to discuss some problem with an all-inclusive holiday I supposedly booked (which is quite funny, as I never opt for package holidays). Then, just four hours later, he rang back pretending to be from the AA. I didn't bother engaging and simply hung up on him.

I ended up giving him the address of 10 Downing Street and even said our last holiday was in Iran. He was pretty calm about it until he asked for my date of birth, then I said it was 30th February 1911. When he twigged I was having a laugh, he got really annoyed and even threw a few threats at me. Lovely bloke, right?

Got a rather dodgy call around midday today, claiming I was owed £500 in holiday compensation. They had my personal information, which seemed a bit off, but when I inquired about where I supposedly went on holiday, they were completely stumped! Just another classic scam, I reckon.

Totally pointless call about some food safety issue during a holiday package I’ve never even taken. They kept saying "due to data protection" they couldn’t say if it was a cruise or a hotel. It was a bit funny trying to get more info from the "supervisor" they passed me to, but honestly it’s not funny that they have my mobile number and even my unlisted landline, which I ignored. They mentioned they’d send me an email too, which makes me uneasy. I really doubt ATOL or ABTA would have shared my details with them.

It was a bloke with an Asian accent asking me about all inclusive holidays. I’ve never actually been on one before but what was odd is that like an hour earlier I was browsing online for all inclusive holiday deals. Maybe there's some link or something, but the weird part is I never gave my phone number anywhere?

I just had a rather unsettling phone call from a company claiming to be the Capital Holiday Group, insisting I was eligible for a £500 payout. The caller mentioned they'd forward me some confirmation details. Unfortunately, I, rather foolishly, provided them with my date of birth and email address. After some further digging on a different forum, I've come across alarming information about how these sorts of scams can lead to email hacks and financial information theft. Could anyone advise if there’s a way to report this potential fraud?

It’s evident this is a scam, and frankly, it's a rather poor one at that. The caller claimed to represent the AA, assuring me they had funds set aside to reimburse me for a supposed claim. It’s almost laughable, really; they seem completely oblivious to the fact that the AA is merely a broker, not an insurance company. Therefore, they wouldn't have the authority to underwrite a policy or handle any payouts for claims. Talk about a lack of understanding!

Im pretty sure the folks saying these numbers are 'safe' actually work for the companies doing the calling. Its kinda like boosting your sender reputation. Theyre basically cold calling and might drop stuff about a card crash or some legal issue you supposedly had, hoping it rings true. Then they keep the chat going as you give them more details.

Lately I've had a bunch of calls from different folks all saying they're ringing about a recent accident of mine. My go-to reply's been the same every time - "What accident?" "When did it occur?" "Where exactly?" then I just cut them off. I've blocked the number now, so it just goes straight to my voicemail. They've left a few alerts but no actual messages, just hang-ups. Wonder what rubbish they'll come up with once they finally think of a decent scam spiel!
