The bloke spoke with such a thick Indian accent, nearly couldn’t make out a word. Rang me work mobile and my phone actually flagged it as spam before I even answered. He rattled off my name, job role and work email, but couldn’t properly explain what he needed in about 10 seconds. Said he’d follow up with an email or something.

A woman with an Indian accent rang me twice from +44 20 3393 3069 on my German +49 phone. She said she was calling from Google, maybe about a business listing, but it was hard to follow. She kept asking to confirm my email and job position but never really said what she wanted. I tried to get more info but gave up and hung up after a while. Then she called again about 5 and a half hours later in the afternoon. I cut the call short the second time. Feels a bit dodgy, or perhaps Google needs to train their callers better. ;-)

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, I think her name was Shaan or maybe Shin, said she was from IBM. She actually read out my email and job title, which was quite spooky. She said she’d send me info about AI services from IBM. Then she started asking about what projects we are working on. I told her to send me an email first because it felt quite odd. Right after that, she ended the call pretty quickly and hung up.

Right, so I tried to connect this lady with the finance team like she asked, but she just got sent back to reception. She didn’t want to leave a message with me and kept asking for an email for finance so she could contact them herself. I told her we can’t share personal emails, but then she read out an email she claimed to have “just to make sure it was correct”. Definitely a scammer! Ugh, spoke with an Indian accent and was really pushy and rude.

they ring the business loads of times every week, often more than once a week, asking for contact info of certain employees to supposedly send "very important confidential papers". they never say who they are or what exactly they're sending. it feels like some kind of scam and when you question them they just end the call.

Got a call from an Indian lady called "Jennifer" claiming to be from "The Register" (didn't explain what that was exactly). She said she’d already talked to someone here but didn’t want to give her number as she’s using a “soft phone” (some kind of internet phone, I guess). Said it wasn’t a sales call but wanted to pitch a business opportunity! Total time waster if you ask me.

Just got a call from this number but didn’t pick up since it was unfamiliar. They left a voicemail but when I played it back, it was completely silent. So, I’ve gone ahead and blocked them now.

Caller claimed his name was Martin, but with a strong Asian accent it didn’t really fit. He knew my name though. Wouldn’t share any more about himself but was keen on getting my company’s details. When I asked who he was, he just hung up. Tried ringing back and got a voicemail. Looked up the number and it’s flagged as a scammer on several websites.

Got a call from a woman who clearly isn’t a native English speaker, asking for our IT manager. She gave her name as Ann Joseph, which honestly doesn’t match her accent at all. She claimed she works for Ricoh. I’m pretty sure she was just trying something fishy!

Spoke to a bloke who was pretty rude and his English wasn’t great. He kept asking to talk to our IT guy about some “digital transformation” stuff. I tried to get some info about his firm, but all he could say was the name “ricoh” and insisted that cold calling wasn’t the problem. Yeah, sure mate, whatever you say.

Got a really weird call from someone asking me to confirm my email address, which i thought was odd since they already had it. When i asked how they found it, they just gave me some rubbish answer. I ended the call nicely and told them not to call me back. Then i blocked the number right away.

the person said it was about a ‘cover for our washing machine’, then started calling it a washer/dryer. our washing machine is really old and when i asked him again what exactly he meant, he just hung up on me.
