So this number 02033652382 rang me earlier today and said they were from HMRC. They threatened me with an arrest warrant if I didn’t talk to them. I just ended the call straight away. It felt dodgy from the start since I’m not working and haven’t had any HMRC contact in ages.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC. They said if I don't pay my "overdue tax" straight away, they'll show up at my house in an hour! Proper scary stuff.

On 7 November 2019, I got a call from what seemed like HMRC scammers using the number 02033899882, but they also called from 02033899339 and 02417085215. Definitely a scam, stay alert!

I never pick up if it’s a number I don’t know, so I just block these annoying calls. It’s a shame others have to put up with them, but honestly, best not to answer if you don’t recognise the caller. My rule’s simple: if they’re not in my contacts, they’ve got no valid reason to ring me. And if they won’t show their number or say who they are, I just hang up straight away! Funny how these calls always seem to come when my insurance is about to expire - what a coincidence!

Got calls from what said it was the City of London police, HMRC and even National Insurance. They kept saying court was the next step if I didn’t sort it out. Proper threatening tone.

Beware of a scam! Yesterday, I got three calls on my home phone from people pretending to be HMRC, one even said they were from the City of London police and another from National Insurance. They were threatening legal action which sounded really serious. I know for a fact these official bodies wouldn’t use automated messages or talk like that. It’s a horrible trick aimed at scaring people, especially those who might be more vulnerable. My advice: just hang up and don’t do anything they tell you.

I received a couple of voicemails on my answering machine, claiming there’s a lawsuit pending against me. They insisted I return the call to discuss my case with the designated individual. Naturally, I chose not to engage. It's absolutely vital that these unscrupulous individuals are put a stop to, as their actions can deeply affect the elderly and those who are more susceptible, both financially and emotionally.

This number rang me again not long ago. They first claimed to be from HMRC, but today, about 5 minutes back, they said they were from the City of London Police. They began by saying they needed to talk to me and tried to verify some of my personal info. When I asked what it was about, they just disconnected immediately. It worries me how they got hold of my phone number in the first place, especially since they tried to check my address. I can’t help but think, if an elderly person had answered, what other details would they have tried to get from them?

Since about 9 in the morning, this number has been ringing me every hour and it's driving me mad. I contacted BT, and they mentioned that if you ring HMRC, there's a recorded message warning about this scam. So, I've just opted into Call Protect, a free feature for BT users that stops calls from numbers flagged as either scams or bothersome.

Got a voicemail saying HMRC are suing me and to press 1 to talk to someone about it. I called the number back and it just kept ringing with no answer. Definitely don’t press 1 if you get the same call. Just hang up and if you’re worried, ring HMRC directly using their official phone number. Make sure you also report it to their fraud department.

Had a couple of calls earlier from a woman with a really weird, robotic voice saying they've been trying to reach me about some issue with The Tax Guys. Honestly, I've lost track of how many times I've gotten these scam calls recently, each time spoofing different numbers. Fingers crossed the proper people put an end to these crooks quickly.

I've gotten calls from this number a couple of times, and each time it sounds like some kind of automated message, so I just end the call straight away. The number doesn't come up as anyone I know, and it's clear they're up to no good. Feels like a dodgy scam, probably trying to scare folks into handing over cash. Really awful stuff.

This number wasn't saved in my contacts, so I can't see any proper reason for them to ring me. I didn’t pick up, and judging by the other comments I’ve seen, skipping this call was probably a smart move.

Got a call from 02033899882 with a recorded message saying there was some police case against me from the City of London. It told me to press 1 to talk to someone. I was a bit worried at first, thinking it might be serious stuff I didn’t know about, but didn’t press anything and just ended the call. Sounds like a total scam to me, so I’m gonna block that number now.

Got a call from 02033899882 in London around 5:25 pm on Thursday, 7th Nov 2019. The person said something about the police and some case. I thought it was a scam but since it was about a legal matter, it could be quite risky. Just be careful with calls like this.

I just got a call with a message saying there’s a lawsuit against me and to press 1 if I want to talk to a police officer. Seriously, don’t press 1! This number has rang me 3 times yesterday and twice today! I just let it ring to voicemail, but every time there's a recorded voice saying it's from HMRC and there's some case against me. They then tell me to press 1 to talk to an agent. Feels like a total scam since they never mention any names. It's really irritating and stress-inducing. I worry this sort of thing could seriously mess with older or vulnerable folks.
