So I decided to try out some Lenor stuff and filled in their form, right? Then the very next morning at about 9am, I get a call saying I’d won loads of lottery tickets for the next three months. They started asking me about which bank I was with, but I told them straight up I wasn’t giving any bank details. Then they said they only needed my sort code - that’s when I hung up. It’s so easy to get caught out like that, feels proper daft now. Definitely won’t be falling for that again. From N Ireland.

The first thing the chap with the Asian accent utters when I pick up is, ‘Afternoon, I’m calling from O2’s customer service, how are you today, sir?’ I usually reply, ‘Let me guess, are you about to entice me with a 40% discount on my plan?’ ‘Um... well...’ is all I get from them-lots of stammering, then they hang up. Straight away, I hit the block button-sorted! They’re always after your email and other personal info. Should you receive similar calls from different numbers, you might want to try my approach or just demand some proof that they’re really from O2. There are plenty of ways to deal with it!

I promptly phoned O2 for confirmation, and they assured me that they had not reached out to me at all. It turns out this was nothing more than a scam!

Just had a call claiming to be from BT about lowering my bill. Sounded like one of those O2 scam calls as well, so I didn't trust it. Definitely be careful with these supposed offers, I reckon they’re just trying to rip you off.

I got a call on my mobile from someone claiming to be from O2, saying I used to be with Virgin Mobile before. I’m not an O2 customer, but someone else in my house is, so I let them talk for a bit. They said I needed a new SIM card because of some system upgrade. I told the caller I wasn’t happy with that and wasn’t interested in carrying on with the call. Then they started getting a bit annoyed and insisted it was really important. I told them I’d ring O2 directly myself and ended the call. I’ll be reporting this number to Which Scam Alerts so others can be warned.

I've received persistent calls from this number over several weeks. They're claiming to be from O2 and are pressuring me to download an app and upgrade my SIM card. <br/>The first caller didn't take long to hand me off to a supervisor who kept the conversation going. It certainly felt like the typical attributes of a scam call. <br/>Stay vigilant, everyone!

Got a call from someone saying they were with O2 and Virgin Media but couldn’t tell me my own name, just that I was on some “special list”. Told them to take me off it and hung up. Blocked the number straight away. Not long after, the same person rang again but from another number - blocked that one too, no way am I answering again.

I’m on O2 too, and funny enough, I got a robo call from them that actually told me it was spam. The scam call never even got through since it was blocked straight away.

Somebody pretending to be from o2 called me and said my sim would be blocked for no real reason. Then they went on with "But don’t fret because…" At that moment, I told them to quit bothering me and that I’d report them if they didn’t remove me from their calls, then hung up!

Mark Anderson, born on Christmas Day 1990, currently resides on Bathurst Close in the UK. Total scam, it's as fake as Gandhi. He’s called me three times now, full of lies and trickery. Absolute dodgy behaviour!

I got a call from someone saying they were with 02 and they wanted my email address. Shortly after, when I tried logging into my Google account, it popped up a warning about a suspicious login attempt from another location. I just hung up then. Luckily, they didn’t ask me for any passwords this time.

I got a call earlier asking loads of stuff about my sim card. I didn’t want to share anything since I’ve heard quite a few scams going around like that. As soon as I said that, they just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Someone rang me saying they were from EE, claiming to offer me a discount on my bill. I started telling them about the Telephone Preference Service and how proper companies check it before calling. They didn’t seem to understand and ended up hanging up when I said no decent company like EE would call random numbers like that. Clearly, not really from EE.

Here we go with the O2 scam once more. They claimed I could get 40% off my bill, but wanted all my details to “verify” I own the account. When I asked nicely if they could just send the offer to my official email, they just dropped the call on me. Quite dodgy.
