O2 SCAM ALERT Somebody phoned pretending to be from O2, surprisingly had all my info - email, address, even my billing details. I got the security codes sent to my phone too. Really sneaky and convincing. I quickly rang O2 myself, who said it was a scam - apparently someone had put an order for an iPhone 15 Max on my account. The plan was that when the phone arrived, the 'fake O2' team would call me, say there was an error, and ask me to send it back... Now the fraud team is dealing with it, I've cancelled direct debits and changed my password and login. Stay alert and watch out for this!

Some guy with an Indian or Asian accent rang me saying he was from Virgin Media. He told me I had to get a new SIM card or my phone wouldn’t work anymore. He asked for my email, but I didn’t give it to him. Then the same number called me again not long after, but I just ignored it.

Called on 27th May. A woman with an Indian/Asian accent said she was from O2, offering a deal for customers. I don't use O2 anymore but still have my original number! Could hear loads of other voices with similar accents in the background. This is definitely a scam, they’ve tried getting in touch with me loads of times using different but related numbers.

Wasn't feeling up for turning the tables on the scammer today, so I just let the call go through to voicemail. I swear I get calls from the same bloke all the time, feels like I know him or summat. Usually it’s an 02 related scam. Even if I tell them that O2 sends a text warning not to give out the code to anyone on the phone, they just keep on. The worrying bit is how they manage to get O2 to send that code in the first place. If it’s you activating it, O2 usually send a text with a link for you to put the code in on their site, they don’t ring you up themselves.

It was an Indian accent, claiming to be from EE and saying I’d been disqualified. Pretty obvious they were reading from a script. I hung up and then they rang again, but I didn’t answer the second time.

I received a rather dodgy call informing me that my SIM card was going to expire shortly and that I should order a replacement. I suggested they pop it in the post since they surely have my details on file, being a legit company. However, the woman on the line abruptly disconnected the call. It definitely feels like a scam to me!

Got two calls back to back. Didn’t answer. They dropped a voicemail about two minutes long full of random chatter from multiple Indian speakers quoting prices, then one louder guy talking in some other language. Seems like a bunch of scammers all in one room. Blocked straight away.

Got a couple of calls on May 25th, first from 020 8144 5246 and then one from this number. Chatted quickly with a woman on the first call but ended it early 'cos I wasn’t convinced she was really from O2. Didn’t answer the second one at all, as I didn’t know the number either.

I got a call claiming to be from O2, saying they needed to send me a new SIM card. The strange thing is, they put me straight through to a supervisor. 😂 It feels like every call ends up on a supervisor’s line these days. They tried asking for my email address, which I refused to share, then asked how many email accounts I had and mentioned Gmail. I just told them if my SIM ever stopped working, I’d pop into an O2 shop myself. Hilarious!

Got a call from someone saying they were with 02. I told them I’m not an 02 customer, so they asked which network I’m on! I told them straight up I’m not interested in any scam calls, and then they told me to f**k off. I just ended the call, blocked the number, and reported it. Absolute rubbish!

I got a call from someone saying they were from O2 and had some discounts to offer. When I asked about my actual account info, they couldn’t really say anything. This isn’t the first time they’ve called, and the spiel they use every time sounds exactly the same. If you push them a bit, they usually get stumped and don’t know what to say next. When I’m feeling a bit bored, I just mess around and keep them hanging on.
