Claimed that I was due £119 for an excess insurance payment I made.

Scammers masquerading as washing machine insurance representatives have been at it again. I've never signed up for any sort of coverage, yet I received a call from someone claiming I could get back a specific sum of money. It's utterly baffling!

Proper nuisance these fraudsters are. Does anyone have any clue who’s meant to put an end to these pests?

Got a call in the afternoon on the 15th of July from some tosser trying to scam me.

Got a call from some bloke claiming it was about a home appliance, though he insisted it wasn’t a scam. He said Domestic Appliances were sending out renewal forms for my washing machine, which was nonsense since I never bought one - so they couldn’t have my info. He promised to check with his customer service team but then just hung up. Pretty sure he wanted to get my details even though he already had my name and address. I called him out on the rubbish he was spouting, and he got a bit annoyed with me for being blunt!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Domestic and General, trying to get me to renew cover for my washing machine, cooker and dishwasher. Told him I’m already covered by D&G for the washing machine. My oven and hob are quite old anyway and the dishwasher’s brand new, less than six months old. When I said I didn’t want any cover, he insisted the manufacturer’s warranty had expired. Then he started saying he couldn’t hear me properly. I just told him, “Well, can you hear this? Bugger off and don’t ring back, cheers, have a good day.” Total scammer, no thanks!

Definitely a total con, these guys are just criminals ignoring the Privacy & Electronic Communications rules. You're meant to be protected by signing up with the TPS, but these calls keep coming through because the government dept in charge doesn’t do its job properly.

Total scam. Got a call from someone claiming to be from the warranty section about my washing machine cover. They asked me to confirm my "details" for renewal but never mentioned which company they were from. Definitely dodgy.

I got a call from 02033323029 about some appliance insurance. The bloke sounded totally unprepared, like he was reading off a script, and it was obvious he was just trying to scam me. I've had calls like that before, so I just hung up on him straight away.

Got a ring from 02033323029, some woman claiming to be with Domestic Insurance. Told her I already got insurance sorted and ended the call quick. Just went ahead and blocked the number after that.

This number rings me loads, sometimes up to half a dozen times a day from morning till night. I usually just let it ring, but every now and then I pick up by mistake. Most of the time it’s dead silent, but when someone does speak, it sounds like a busy call centre with people finding it tricky to say English names right. They've pretended to be from Virgin Media, BT, HMRC and lately about some home appliance insurance. It’s nonstop, so I ended up getting a really loud whistle to deal with it.

Got a call from something called national home cover saying they were renewing my appliance protection I never even signed up for. They tried to charge me £300 and ask for my bank details. I ended up giving them some made up info back - figured they deserved as much fibbing as they were giving me. Such a dodgy scam!

They rang up asking for my father-in-law using his full name, which was weird since he passed away back in 2008. When I tried to find out who was on the other end, the caller just cut off the call.

I got a call from someone saying my home appliance insurance had run out and they wanted to renew it. They insisted it expired on 30th June but couldn't give me any policy number or specify what appliances were covered. When I asked more questions, they just ended the call. Felt dodgy to me.

Got a call from 02033323029 - probably some sort of marketing or a survey. I didn't bother answering properly and just let it ring out, then the call dropped. I don’t really know much about them, but I'm pretty sure they’re at least a bit of a nuisance.
