Why on earth did you give me a ring? I'm only twelve! What do you reckon I’d need to know about net worth for?

Some bloke named John rang me claiming he was from Sky, saying my coverage was about to expire. I said it wasn't, but he kept pushing for the details and wouldn’t let me hang up. When I told him to be quiet, he told me to shut up and then told me to f##k off. What a pleasant chap.

Watch out for dodgy appliance insurance calls. They either deal with bogus policies or rip you off when you give your card details on the phone.

They only asked if I was Mr and then ended the call without saying anything else.

I just let it ring out to answerphone and nothing was said, no message left.

I got a call earlier from a bloke claiming to be with Domestic and General about some home appliance insurance.

No message left, so I’m guessing it was just some sort of scam.

I recently encountered a dodgy outfit that appears to be fishing for credit card info under the guise of promoting an unsolicited insurance scheme for a maintenance programme. When I pressed the caller about the brand of my appliance and when I had bought it, they were completely stumped and got quite irate, repeatedly mentioning my washing machine as if to suggest I might be a bit out of my depth due to age. It's a bit rich, really! So, do yourself a favour - steer clear and keep your personal information under wraps!

This bloke called about some kitchen appliance insurance, kept chatting until he was asking what appliances I own. Lost interest after that. The number sounds legit enough as I had a silent ring from a number just one digit off yesterday.

Got a call from a blocked number claiming to offer insurance for my household appliances. Sounded fishy, definitely a scam. Don’t trust these calls!

Got a call from someone called "Amy" with a very Asian accent, claiming to be from the Appliance Group about a washing machine supposedly linked to my place. When I asked her which washing machine she meant, she told me it was from the Hotpoint Group. I mentioned I thought AEG was separate from Hotpoint, and right after that, she just hung up. Feels like a dodgy scam to me.

Some lady rang me up saying there was a warranty on my washing machine that didn’t even exist. When I told her to take my number off their list, she just hung up straight away.

Received a call purporting to be about a warranty for my washing machine. Strangely enough, this occurred just a day after I had renewed my maintenance cover with a reputable firm for another device. Quite curious, if you ask me!
