Since the 16th of October, I've been receiving four calls from this number and I'm based in Dublin, Ireland. I haven't got a clue who's behind it. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Unfamiliar number rang me regarding a cancellation of my Sky contract - total nonsense! It happened on the 16th of June; they hung up, only to ring me once more. Clearly dodgy characters! 😂

got a call from an unknown number just after lunch, didn’t pick up and went ahead and blocked it straight away.

I’m always a bit wary when I get calls from call centres. It really bugs me when they know my name - like, how on earth did they get that info? They never seem to explain it properly. Honestly, I tend to be quite blunt with whoever’s calling. This one time, it was supposedly about home appliance insurance. That’s something I’d never bother signing up for anyway.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was ringing about the warranty on my Hotpoint washing machine. Thing is, I don't even own a Hotpoint washer and this isn't the first time they've called. When I said I was recording the conversation, he just cut off. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Received a call earlier today, but the person on the other end went silent and hung up without uttering a word.

Got a call about some boiler warranty and when i asked for more info so i could tell TPS about it they just cut me off. Proper dodgy!

Be careful with this one, it’s definitely a bank scam. They somehow already knew bits about me, like about my insurance from d&g coming up for renewal, then asked for my bank info. Really dodgy!

They were fishing around for info about my appliances, but I hung up before they even got a chance to ask for my bank info. Didn’t stick around to see where it was going.

Got a call from someone named Hazel, claiming to be with the warranty team from some home insurance company (never said which). Pretty obvious they were trying to pull a banking scam on me.

I got a call from a number I didn’t know. It went straight to my voicemail but they didn’t say anything. Bit odd really.

Got a random call from someone claiming to sell appliance insurance, but they didn't say anything about d&g. I don't do appliance insurance anyway, so I just cut the call off fast.

Watch out, I got a call pretending to be from my bank. They actually mentioned some stuff about my insurance, like they had some of my details, which freaked me out. Definitely be cautious with these calls.

I received a call purporting to be from D and G Insurance, claiming they were representing Game UK. They suggested that I had additional appliances insured and tried to persuade me to renew coverage on a fridge freezer, among others. The truth is, I do not have any such insurance. Sounds like a right scam to me!

Just received an unwelcome sales call from an insurance firm targeting appliances. As usual, there was a moment of silence right after I picked up, then a representative who struggled to pronounce my name from their screen. At best they're just a nuisance, but they might be up to no good at worst. It really is high time the authorities took a firmer stance on these types of calls!

The call cuts off as soon as I pick up, which leads me to think it’s probably a nuisance caller.

I recently had a rather dubious encounter with a supposed appliance insurance representative. The information they provided was all over the place; they even mentioned my daughter’s name, which baffled me as she hasn’t lived here for quite some time. We had sorted everything out back then, and I suspected they were up to something shady. They claimed they needed my bank information to "activate" a policy, even though my appliances have been insured for years already. When I told them I had misplaced my bank card, they insisted I fetch details from a cheque book or a statement! I explained I’d ring back once my new card arrived, but they attempted to pressure me with a number to call. It was all very suspicious-too many warning signs there!

I received that typical pause on the line before a caller eventually popped on, claiming they needed to speak to the homeowner regarding some washing machine matter-apparently it was quite urgent! What a load of rubbish!

I received a rather dodgy phone call regarding the renewal of an insurance policy for my household appliances. Strangely enough, the caller even provided a made-up policy number when I pressed for clarification. To be honest, I've never actually had any insurance on my appliances, so it was quite clear this was a scam. The more I probed for specifics about the so-called policy, the more irate the caller became!
