Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT about my internet being at risk. Thing is, the internet is registered under my late husband’s name, yet this person kept addressing me as Mrs “X”. No idea how they knew my name, which felt really odd. It raised alarm bells so I ended the call straight away. I tried ringing the number back, like I always do to check, and it turned out to be totally wrong. It’s so frustrating how they keep targeting older folks with these scams.
