My phone buzzes and I pick up, greeting with a simple "hello." Nothing on the other end. Not exactly in the best mood already, and someone messing around isn't going to help, so I call out louder, "HELLO??" After a moment, a voice with a strong foreign accent comes through asking the usual, "Is this Mr [my name] speaking?" I reply, "Who exactly is this?" Before he can repeat himself, I cut in, "I asked, who are you?"

Eventually, he says he's from some company I'd never heard of, which smelled a bit dodgy to me, typical of a scam, so I just ended the call.
