I got this message left on my voicemail too, pretty much the exact same as everyone else seems to be getting. It made me a bit anxious honestly. I didn’t bother ringing them back though. Instead, I contacted the cops and they told me it’s definitely a scam and loads of others had reported getting the same call.

Just got one of these calls a couple of hours back. Luckily, I use Call Guardian and it sent the fools straight to voicemail. So now a) I’ve got a recording I can share with our local Neighbourhood Watch, and b) my mates can have a chuckle over the thought of me ending up behind bars. On a serious note though, it’s important to warn folks so they don’t get scared into making stupid decisions. I’ve got opinions on how to deal with these types, and trust me, locking them up isn’t part of it.

They called me from a London landline but with a withheld number, so I rang back. The person on the other end sounded proper stressed when I said we knew exactly where in London they were based and that the cops had been alerted. If it’s a landline, you can’t block it, unfortunately. But don’t worry, they can’t make you pay or hack into your phone, so just hang up straight away or give ’em a good shout to piss off!
