12 September 2023 I received a rather dubious call from a chap claiming to represent National Westminster Bank, saying he was from their fraud department. He insisted I had two suspicious transactions related to Amazon on my account and told me to urgently ring the number 02032904359, which he claimed belonged to Nat West's fraud division. I pedalled over to my nearest Nat West branch to verify the legitimacy of the call, and lo and behold, it was indeed a scam. For anyone wondering, the genuine fraud department can be contacted using the number found on the reverse of your debit card. Honestly, the audacity of some people! It’s beyond comprehension. If only these cons could be dealt with in a less humorous but more just manner!
