Just got an email from someone claiming to be “HMRC,” saying there was a warrant for my arrest over some tax fraud. They told me I needed to call this number to sort out the fine. They also said my passport’s been cancelled and that all my benefits and bank accounts were frozen. Sounded really serious but felt a bit off.

Some bloke rang me up saying he was from 3, trying to sell me a fancy new phone with a great deal. Total scam, no doubt. Funny enough, he’s just got back in touch after about three weeks, asking the same thing again!

Got a call from a lady saying she was with Royal Mail, wanted some extra cash for delivery. Didn’t feel right so I just ended the call. Bit creepy she knew my full name though.

I got a call from someone pretending to be Royal Mail, asking for my email address which I didn't give them. They said they'd send me a text with some info while we were still on the phone and wanted me to click the link in it, but I said no. They then said there was a parcel stuck at North Islington Sorting Office for two weeks and that I'd lose it if I didn’t reply to their email or text. It’s a scam for sure! Islington isn't even near me, and any package waiting would be at my usual local depot. The caller was really pushy and quite rude, refusing to back down. Watch out for this!

how on earth did these scammers manage to find out my name? feels like the only safe bet is to stick to meeting people in person and paying with cash, seriously avoid buying stuff on the internet. why isnt the government stepping in to put an end to this nonsense 02032904330

Got a call on my mobile with my right name, they said they had an Amazon package that needed paying for. They rattled off the parcel size and measurements quick, with what sounded like a Spanish accent, made it tricky to follow. When I asked for an order number or any specifics, they just ended the call.

Someone called claiming to be from Royal Mail saying there was a parcel stuck because the postage was short. They wanted me to pay £1 to sort it out. When I asked questions, they suddenly told me I could pick up the package myself at the Northolt depot if I showed ID. Then, they just hung up on me. No doubt about it, it was a total scam.

Someone rang me telling me my parcel was held up at the depot and asked for my details so they could sort payment. I said no way and checked it out, turns out it was a total scam. Don’t trust them or hand over any info, they’re just trying to trick you.

I have a strong suspicion that this is a scam. I received a standard email notification about my Royal Mail parcel, which I had unfortunately missed. However, scarcely a minute later, I received a call from 020 3290 4330, purporting to be from Royal Mail. They insisted that I needed to pay an extra shipping fee for my parcel or come to the depot to collect it myself. It was quite clear to me that this was a fraudulent attempt, and I refused to provide any information. I simply logged onto the website and arranged for my delivery without incurring any additional charges. What unnerves me is that they had my full name and called me just at the right moment, making their attempt all the more convincing, especially since my parcel had been missed. It raises serious concerns about whether these individuals have somehow infiltrated the Royal Mail system, or if an insider is leaking sensitive information.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Royal Mail, saying I needed to pay a tiny fee because my parcel wasn’t properly stamped. Got a call again from someone claiming they were calling on behalf of the post office, said I had a parcel waiting at their depot and even used my name! They asked if I wanted details on how to collect it. Told them if it's really there, it’ll probably show up soon enough without any fuss!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Royal Mail, saying I owed money for postage that hadn’t been paid. They sent an email too, trying to pressure me into clicking a link and paying straight away. I told them I’d sort it later when I got home, but they kept pushing. Eventually, I just ended the call. Later, I checked the tracking number they gave me on the official Royal Mail website, and it was totally fake. Definitely don’t click the link or put in your card info!
