Somebody just called me pretending they were from Chase Bank. Sounded like a total scam to me, real fishy vibes. Got me all worried at first but I didn’t give them any info. Watch out for these fake bank calls, they’re getting sneaky!

On 26/10/17, I got a call from some scammers claiming HMRC was taking legal action against me - totally fake! I don't understand why the police or anyone in charge hasn't shut these jokers down yet. I rang them back pretending to be from HMRC, asking which department they were from. The bloke panicked big time and hung up straight away!

Today, I got a call from these guys who said they were from HMRC and accused me of having a case against me. I just cut the call off straight away. They kept ringing me over and over, threatening that I’d be arrested and taken to court. In the end, I had no choice but to block their number.

I've had a similar experience recently, and I count myself fortunate because I received a scam call from the same number just last week. It’s quite astonishing, really-this number ought to be flagged and reported immediately!

Absolutely appalling! I've been struggling with my mental health, and then I receive a call informing me that there's a warrant for my arrest! The so-called 'Officer Henry' needs to be put in his place! This kind of harassment is unacceptable!

I just received a rather unsettling call from this number, claiming to be HMRC and stating that I'm under investigation. They wished me good luck and abruptly disconnected the call. Naturally, I decided to return the call, only to be informed that a warrant has been issued for my arrest and that I could be facing a prison sentence of 18 months! As a parent to a one-year-old, I was absolutely flustered and didn’t know what steps to take. Luckily, I stumbled upon this page, which has been a real lifesaver! It’s crucial that we report these scams as often as we can..

I just got a rather alarming phone call purporting to be from HMRC. It was some chap with a terrible accent, claiming to be Officer Williams, stating that the police were on their way to apprehend me. It's outrageous, honestly-a vile scam that could seriously unsettle the elderly. Something really must be done to put an end to this nonsense!

I’ve been plagued by these incessant calls for what feels like an eternity now. Initially, I received a call from someone named Harry, supposedly from HMRC, claiming they were about to file a claim against me. After a rather curt "good luck," he abruptly hung up.
Today, the same Harry called again, this time alleging that I’m under investigation for tax fraud and that I supposedly owe a hefty sum of £800. I soon told him exactly what I thought of his rubbish. I reported this to the Police Fraud Unit weeks ago, as I can't help but think how distressing this must be for the elderly. It’s absolutely unacceptable and must be put to an end. I’ve stopped answering my phone whenever that number pops up... it’s clearly a scam!

It's essential to flag this matter repeatedly because there is simply NO COUNCIL TAX SECTION at HMRC. This caller is attempting to extract your personal information. I received a call from someone claiming to represent them, and when I refused to share any details, he provided a supposedly official staff ID number, which turned out to be nonsense. He wouldn’t disclose his name when I pressed him for it. I challenged him about the non-existence of such a department, and he retorted with hostility, telling me to "F**k off" before abruptly hanging up. I urge everyone, especially those who might be vulnerable, to report these deceitful individuals to Action Fraud. Let's protect each other from these con artists!

Just got a call at 12:26pm from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I owed back taxes and threatened arrest within five days. They said if I paid £607 on the fifth day after being detained, I'd be released. They asked for my full name, NI number, DOB and address, but I didn’t give them any info. Then they just hung up on me. I’ve been retired for nine years, haven’t worked since 1992, so clearly a scam. The caller sounded foreign, maybe Indian. The number they called from was 02032904077. Watch out for these dodgy calls!

Hello there! I must admit, I was completely taken aback by a phone call I received earlier. It honestly had me quite rattled at first. Luckily, my manager set the record straight by informing me that HMRC would never contact anyone like that. As someone who's not originally from the UK, it genuinely left me feeling quite anxious. In a bid to get to the bottom of it, I took to the internet and stumbled upon this website, which was such a huge relief, to be honest! It’s hard to believe people would stoop so low. A heartfelt thanks to all who have shared their stories; it really helps to shine a light on these despicable tactics!

Received a rather alarming call claiming to be from HMRC, asserting that I owe them a staggering £2,550. They threatened that if I failed to settle this supposed debt, they’d send the authorities after me. I certainly gave them a good piece of my thoughts on the matter!

I mistakenly provided an incorrect date of birth, and to my surprise, they managed to pull up my file anyway. Honestly, it was all just a muddle; I could barely make sense of what they were saying. I ended up being advised to seek legal counsel since the police allegedly plan to apprehend me for something entirely foreign to me. It's all quite bewildering!

It's baffling how these individuals seem to evade any form of accountability. It’s not like they’ve even got a decent grasp of English, let alone the ability to communicate properly!
