Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from Three and wanted to update my SIM to 5G. They asked for a verification code, which I gave, then started asking all sorts of questions. It made me uneasy, so I hung up and rang my bank straight away. They said it was probably a scam, so I blocked my card then and there. They kept ringing, but I ignored them. For now, my card is frozen. Total scammers.

I received a call from someone claiming that I needed to provide them with my email address in order to obtain a new SIM card for o2. However, since I wasn't familiar with this person or their company, I hesitated to give out my email address. Just got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, saying they were upgrading my account. Her accent was so thick I couldn’t make out what the upgrade was even about. I asked her to say it again but it was still a mystery. The moment she started trying to get my personal info to ‘verify’ things, I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Lately, loads of dodgy unknown numbers have been ringing me, so it looks like these scammers are sharing phone numbers within their gang.

Today, I have received calls from three different scam numbers. It appears that these scammers are constantly changing their numbers, switching between mobile and landline numbers. I have made it a habit to never answer calls from unknown numbers, so you should be cautious too. The scammers seem persistent in trying to reach me today, but I will never pick up because I have no reason to. I only reach out to companies that genuinely interest me. Otherwise, I assume it's a scammer.

After reading what others said about O2, I reckon she was probably pretending to be from Vodafone or something similar, though the second word she used is still a mystery to me. When I asked her to slow down and say it again for the second time, she just ended the call. That was that, really.

I received a call from someone claiming to be my network provider, stating that they wanted to offer me a free upgrade for my sim to 5G. They requested my personal information for data protection purposes. I became suspicious when I asked the caller to verify her knowledge about me by reading something from my file and she seemed taken aback. She insisted that I provide all my details without any assurance that they were indeed legitimate. It is evident that this was a 100% scam - and not a very good one, considering that I am already using 5G.

She asked me to confirm my email before they could do that, and I stupidly gave it out, but luckily didn’t share any other info. Then she said my email wasn’t on file and started asking more questions. That’s when I hung up, feeling like it might be a scam. The same number rang me back straight away. I’ve since blocked it. Got a call from someone claiming to be with O2, saying there’s going to be some upgrades in my neighbourhood tomorrow and they’d be sending details about a new phone. They then asked for my email to confirm. I wasn’t convinced and asked for proof. Next thing, a supervisor got on, saying she was the customer service manager. I told them I wouldn’t share any info and that I’d just pop into an O2 shop to sort things directly. They ended the call, but since then, I've had three more calls from them.

Somebody rang me saying they were from O2, telling me they needed to send me a new SIM because of some frequency update. They were really pushy about me confirming my email so they could send a link for the new SIM. I explained I wasn’t with O2 at all and ended the call. Almost immediately, they called back asking if I’d hung up and then tried to find out if I was with Tesco Mobile instead. They kept insisting they weren’t just cold calling and warned that my phone wouldn’t work without the new SIM. Didn’t buy it for a second, told them I wasn’t sharing anything and that they must have my email if they had info to send. Then quickly hung up. Definitely felt like a phishing attempt - best to just block such calls.

Didn’t bother picking up, there wasn’t any voicemail either. Probably one of those typical scammers calling again.

Got a call but no voicemail or anything left. Checked it here and seems like it's marked as spam.

Got a call claiming to be from O2, and they started threatening me. Felt really sketchy, not sure if it was legit.

Unknown caller ID, no voicemail left. The call ended pretty fast. I never pick up for numbers I don't recognise anyway.

Looks like a scam, claiming to be from o2 but definitely not. They're trying to vish you. If you don’t know the number and pick up, don’t share any details, not even your name. Genuine callers will have all the proper info anyway.

I received a call from someone named Sam, who claimed to be calling from O2. They said that they would be sending me a new SIM card within 24 hours, as there had been some changes in my activity and usage. The caller had a strong accent, making it challenging for me to comprehend their words.

On 16th January, I received a phone call that appeared as a potential spam on my device. However, I didn't pay much attention to it, as I was busy with school. Upon reviewing my recent call log, I noticed that they had actually contacted me in the previous year.

This is the second time in two weeks that I haven't answered my phone because it flagged the call as a scam. I'm tired of receiving these scam calls. In general, I dislike phone calls, so by now they should know that I won't pick up. It's getting frustrating.

They kept pushing me to give my email when I was just trying to check who was ringing, and kept telling me I shouldn't bother getting in touch with O2 on my own.

I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone, however, I haven't been their customer for more than five years. The phone line was extremely crackly and the person spoke with a strong Indian accent.

Got a call from a dodgy number, so I just blocked it straight away.

I reckon it was a scam, they wanted my email to send some code and when I asked what for, they just hung up on me.

They kept ringing me about 17 times, all trying to blag my card details, claiming they were from my phone company.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, saying they needed to send me a new SIM because of some network frequency update. When I refused to give them my email, they got all annoyed.

A woman rang claiming to be with O2, telling me they were posting a new SIM because of changes in the network frequencies. I told her that SIM cards don't actually depend on frequency, and the 5G stuff she mentioned wasn’t even on the bands she named. She was a bit annoyed but oddly kept chatting for quite a while even though she didn’t seem to be getting the answers she expected.

I picked up but they just ended the call right away. Blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number saying they were from o2. When I asked for proof, they couldn't back it up. The person was going on about needing to change my SIM card and kept asking for my email. Also, I've had calls from 0800 368 8190 about the exact same thing, so I reckon they're connected somehow.

Please note the telephone number 020 3290 0307. I received a call from someone claiming to be from Lycamobile. They attempted to persuade me to update my lyca plan. They sounded very assertive and immediately mentioned that I was due to receive something in the post tomorrow. When they rapidly described the £7.50 unlimited monthly plan, I didn't realize that they hadn't asked for any confirmation of my identity. When I mentioned that I needed time to think it over, she abruptly ended the call. Please be cautious and don't make the same mistake I did (being gullible). I'm grateful that I decided to reconsider. You should be wary of the sense of urgency these calls create, and how they avoid asking for any confirmation.

I have received three phone calls in the last three days from individuals claiming to represent both Vodafone and EE. They were offering a mobile deal. I asked them to stop calling me, but they continue to do so.

Had a call from someone saying they were with O2, and somehow they had all my personal info, even my bank details! It was really scary. I've already told the police, my bank, and O2 about it. It’s awful that folks do this, especially when things are so tough for everyone right now!

Some bloke told me I had to get a new SIM or my phone would basically quit on me. They asked for my info to sort it out and keep it going.

Somebody said they were with O2 but got pretty rude when I wouldn’t give my email, then just cut me off.
