One thing I found strange was they already had my surname and address, but still felt the need to double check my first name. I kinda wish I’d just thrown them off and said something silly like Ranjit or Manesh, just to see if they’d catch on to the joke. Of course, there’s no way I was about to hand over any bank info or card details to them.

I got a call from someone named Emily Rother claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. She had a strong Asian accent and told me I was due a £2500 refund from Lloyds TSB. It all sounded legit until she started asking me to pay tax using iTunes vouchers. I hung up straight away and reported it to Action Fraud. They advised me to block the number. Even now, 5 days later, I keep getting voicemail from that same number. Feels like the police haven't really taken any action. The number calling me is 02081440465.

I got a call from someone calling herself Emily Rother, claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. Just got a call like that yesterday. They somehow knew about this old Black Horse loan we took ages ago (which I already looked into, no PPI there). The bloke’s ringing again today, so I’m gonna keep him on the line a while and see what he’s really up to. If it’s the same story as before, he’s gonna get an earful from me!

Got a letter from someone claiming to be the Ministry of Justice, sent by recorded delivery. The English was awful and the email address ended in '@gmail', which was a dead giveaway it was a scam. They kept trying and sounded pretty convincing though, so watch out - these scammers can be really dangerous.

I'm on the TPS, so when I got a call, I told them that straight away. The bloke claimed he was from the Ministry of Justice or some government lot. Seemed dodgy, so I had a quick look online and stumbled across loads of similar stories here. I rang them back and let them have it, saying I'd be reporting them to an actual government agency. Not surprisingly, they hung up on me and wouldn't pick up when I called again.

I told him I didn’t buy it and had already looked up their number online, which flagged it as a scam. They then handed me over to a supervisor who insisted their info was legit and that the scam website I saw was fake - I found that hilarious. The bloke even told me I had no reason to laugh, which made me chuckle even more. Eventually, I just wished them a good day and hung up!

My partner got a call from 02032900238 and the caller claimed she had £2500 waiting from some MoJ thing and a ppi claim. They told her she had to buy iTunes vouchers and send the codes over to get the money. The woman was really pushy and kept badgering her. Eventually my partner said she needed to check with me at work, so the caller gave her a number to call back. Turns out it’s the same dodgy number lots of people here have talked about, and the woman said her name was Anisa Abbi, sounded like she was from overseas. Best advice - just hang up straight away if you get a call like this.

I’m gutted because this lot managed to swipe £750 from me using iTunes vouchers. It’s made me really poorly, and I can’t believe they still operate even after folks have reported them to the cops and flagged the fraud. They go by Jack Willis or sometimes Jack Jones. Wish someone had warned me earlier - I was so unwell and vulnerable at the time. It wasn’t until the police knocked on my door that I fully understood the scam. Now I’m left with absolutely nothing, and of course, they don’t answer when you try to contact them.

Honestly, steer well clear of this number! It’s been a nightmare for me these last couple of weeks - caused so much stress and I’ve even lost weight over it. I’ve already told the police and Action Fraud, but still no luck getting my cash back. The worst part is it was actually a police officer behind it, and no one’s been arrested yet! Today, on 24th May 2016, I got a call from a guy with a Pakistani accent who said his name was Jack Rogers. He claimed to be from the Ministry of Justice and told me I was due a £2500 payment. But to get it, I had to first buy two Pay Point Vouchers, one for £100 and another for £150, to cover some tax on the refund. He mentioned an address: 102 Petty France, London, SW18 9AJ. Apparently, the cash would then be dropped off at my place by a solicitor named Peter Jones. Thought I’d share this in case it helps someone else.

Just to let you know, that phone call you got is definitely a scam. These people aren’t linked to the Ministry of Justice, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, or any legit claims department. The Ministry of Justice would never ask for your bank details over the phone or demand an upfront payment through a money transfer. this bloke said he was ringing from the government's justice department. when i checked if he meant the uk government (pretty sure it’s called the ministry of justice here) he snapped back, "yeah obviously british - you daft or what?" i wasn't having any of that, so i gave him a right earful in proper scottish fashion and then cut him off. i’m gonna report this number to neighbourhood alert, which is a police-run local watch scheme.

On 16th March 2022, I got a call from this number, with a woman who said she was from the Ministry of Justice. She had an Indian name and told me I was due to receive £2500 related to PPI. She said I had to send some tax money first using a Paysafe voucher, then a solicitor would ring me in about 20 minutes to arrange the cheque. The calls haven't stopped, she rings me every single day.

So I got a call from this guy, Fred Carter, who says he works for the Ministry of Justice in the Claims Regulation Department. He told me they’re gonna send me a cheque for £2,500 because apparently HSBC wronged me somehow - which is odd since I’ve never even had any dealings with HSBC. But here’s the catch, he said I need to pay a £125 tax first using a PaySafe card before they can send me the money. Sounds fishy to me.

Got a call telling me my loan was accepted, but before they’d send any cash, they wanted me to pay the first instalment using a paysafe card. Here’s what they said: Paysafe cards are only for personal use and you need a legit voucher to get the loan. The phone number they gave was 02032900238, and the bloke on the phone called himself Jack Rodgers. They said it was £100 cash, with a UK government approved voucher. They mentioned I’d get £1000 in total, but first I had to pay £100 by 1st February, complete a direct debit form (they said two copies), then attach the voucher to it. After that, the direct debit starts. Supposedly it was an unsecured loan with no paperwork to sign upfront. They told me I’d sign the documents once the money was in my account. The company name they gave was Littleloans.co.uk, and they claimed to be direct registered lenders. Seemed dodgy to me though.

Absolute scammers. They took the cash, then called again pretending there was a tax problem and asked for even more money. When we looked up the bank details, it turned out to be just some bloke’s personal account, nothing official. It’s baffling the police can’t step in when they have this guy’s address. And get this - they can’t even get his number removed. Ridiculous!

I’ve had this number ring me repeatedly, and I told them straight away that I’m on the TPS list. Even after nicely asking them to stop contacting me, they insisted they won’t delete my account unless I pay £100. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with them! They said they’re from QUICK quick loans or something like that.
