Got a call claiming to be Santander about some timer code for Moon Pay - sounds like a total scam to me. Definitely don’t trust those folks trying to pull this kind of stunt.

It's crazy how these con artists have the nerve to pick up the phone pretending to be from Santander. I rang them up just to call them out, told them straight they're nothing but scammers and that no one’s buying their lies. I told them to ceese texting me and maybe find a legit way to earn money instead of trying to trick folks. Honestly, how the police haven't caught them yet is beyond me, and how the hell they manage to have a UK landline number from London is just mind-blowing!!! Ridiculous!!!

If you want to put an end to scam calls, you've got to report them to the police. There's info on this page about how to do it. These scammers hang around trying to nick money from people here in the UK. They count on most of us not bothering to waste time reporting them. That's the reason they keep getting away with it.

Got a text from +447546590369 saying something like “NATIONWIDE: Your one time password is xx for £xxx to the merchant BOOKING.com. If you didn’t do this, ring +4420 3290 0360 REF:xxxxx.” I just deleted it because Nationwide never sends me texts with a mobile number in the sender field. Pretty sure this is some kind of scam.

Got a dodgy text saying: SANTANDER: Here’s your One Time Passcode (OTP) 197838 for £571.90 transaction at MOONPAY. If you didn’t do this, ring +4420 3290 0360 right away. REF7854127. Sounds like a scam to me, so I’d avoid calling that number.

Got a text saying: SANTANDER: Your one-time passcode (OTP) is xxxxxx for £571.90 to MOONPAY. If you didn’t make this transaction, ring +4420 3290 0360. Thing is, I don't even have an account with Santander, so I’m definitely not clicking on anything or calling back. Strange messages like this always make me wary!

Got a message from SANTANDER sayin my one-time passcode is 197838 for like £571.90 spent at MOONPAY. Don’t know anything about it, so I’m gonna ring +4420 3290 0360 to check if it’s legit. Ref number was REF7854127 if that helps.

I received a text from +44 7935 678081 pretending to be Nationwide, saying I needed a one-time password for a charge of £571.90 to booking.com. The message told me to ring +4420 3290 0360 and mention REF7854127 "if this wasn't authorised by me". Foolishly, I phoned the number, and the guy on the line claimed he was from Santander. I started to get suspicious when he asked for my name and other personal details, and that's when I twigged it was a scam.
