I received a rather dubious phone call at 16:04 on the 29th of October. After using 1471, I discovered that the number which rang us was actually 08452861758. The caller, who spoke with an Asian accent, identified himself as Gerrard Messi and claimed to be affiliated with the UK Department of Transport. He was probing for details about a supposed minor accident involving a vehicle linked to our address over the past year. However, I knew for a fact that no such accident had occurred. When I pressed him for the registration number of the vehicle in question or even the date when this alleged incident took place, he was either unwilling or unable to provide that information. It was clear to me that this was an attempt at a scam. I've since reported the encounter to the legitimate Department of Transport.
