Got a call from someone claiming I was owed £3500 from the financial ombudsman and that they had a cheque ready for me. Definitely a scam!

Got loads of calls from this number, said it was some Indian office pretending to be from MOJ, talking about money I supposedly was owed from some bank charges claim. Tried to get more details and they just got rude and started saying horrible stuff. Honestly, avoid picking up if this number rings you!

Got a ring from someone saying they were from the Ministry of Justice about some PPI issue and an ombudsman thing. They claimed I'd get a £3,500 cheque, but only if I sent them £175 in iTunes vouchers. Weirdly, they already knew my name and number. I made sure to report them to both the police and the Ministry of Justice. I just kept them on the line for ages, chatting away, trying to stop them targeting anyone who might be more trusting.

Got a call from an Indian woman who said she was from the Ministry of Justice, offering to send back £2500 that my mum supposedly paid too much at a&l bank ages ago! Makes me curious if the Ministry’s aware of this.

A person with a weird accent rang me up saying my hubby had some money due from Halifax. I told them straight it was a scam and hung up. Then he called back claiming I'd been rude to him, so I ended the call again. When he rang a third time, he just stayed silent on the line. I was so fed up I left the phone down and ignored him while he kept going on.

They were using some really nasty and offensive words, totally out of line. Got me feeling pretty upset with all that rude talk. Wouldn’t want to deal with that again!

I got a call from this number and the bloke on the other end was asking for my husband. He sounded Indian and spoke quite politely, saying he had something important to discuss. When I asked who it was, he replied it was a Government Department wanting some information. I kindly told him we’re not comfortable sharing or talking about any personal info over the phone, so I ended the call there.

Had a call from an Asian woman saying she was from some government dept, something about regulations and management. Told me Lloyds Bank had been charging me too much with interest, APR and all that, and that I was owed £3500. Then she said I just had to pay £175 tax to get the money. Total rip off.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling from the Ministry of Justice. She told me there was a cheque waiting for me from the financial ombudsman for £3500, supposedly due to overpaid bank fees or something like that (maybe linked to PPI?). She said a solicitor would come round to my house to hand over the cheque. The worrying bit was that she already had my address.
I told her to just donate it to charity instead, but she insisted they had to give it to me first and then I could send it on. I called it out as a scam and asked her to remove my details from their list straight away.

Got a call from an Asian woman saying she was with the government, something about the regulations and management dept. She claimed Lloyds Bank had been charging me too much interest, at some kind of APR, and said I was owed £3500. Apparently, I just had to pay £175 in tax to get it. Total con!

Got a call from someone saying they were from the claims regulation and management unit, which they said was a government office. They told me they were going to send me a cheque because apparently I was owed money from interest overpayment!

I've received a cheque for £2,500, but they've asked me to purchase an iTunes card worth £125 first. They claim to be from some government agency, insisting it’s a prerequisite to getting the cheque released. It’s a Saturday, and unsurprisingly, all the banks in my area are shut! Cheers, N Fryer.
