8 yearsOn 13/09/2018, I got a call from a woman and then a man, both speaking with strong Asian (?) accents. At one point, they seemed to switch to a foreign language between themselves. The woman said she was calling from ‘BT central London’ and told me that flashing lights on my modem meant someone else was tapping into my line. Then the bloke asked me to download an app from the Play Store, which seemed like it would let them remotely view my screen. The phone number on my caller ID looked like a London one (though I know those can be faked). I asked for a proper office number for BT Central and wanted to call back. He said I could, but kept repeating the same number. I insisted it didn’t sound like an official BT number, which would’ve been simpler if it was. That’s when he abruptly ended the call.
