Got a call saying they were from the bank dealing with an issue at one of their branches. They were asking for money to be sent to places in Luton and Essex. Turns out they tricked one of my family members out of thousands. We contacted both the bank and the police to sort it out.

Nearly got my mum to send over £12,000 but thankfully she rang me up first. It’s crazy how this kind of number can’t be tracked down and the person caught!

My 88 year old mum got a call from this number, with some bloke named Steven on the line telling her that someone had been taking money from her card. He told her she had to rush to the bank and pay £3600 right away! Thankfully, she gave me a ring before following any of his instructions, and I told her not to trust it. Good job she called me!

Beware of scammers using the name Steven Borner, pretending they’re from some ‘anti-fraud’ team. They’ve been targeting elderly folks, pressuring them to send big amounts of money (last I heard it was £15,000) to a bank account they provide. In one case, this Steven bloke even told an old lady to fib to her bank and say the cash was urgently for buying a child’s new car! If you get a call from this number or anyone calling themselves Steven Borner, don’t hesitate - report it straight to the police or your local fraud agency.
