My phone displayed "International 020 3287 1375" which instantly made me wary. A woman with an Indian accent said she was Aliya Wilson from BT, claiming there were issues with my internet connection. She asked if I was having any trouble with my computer. I didn’t answer but requested proof that she was really from BT. She kept asking her question; I kept asking for proof. This went on for a while until I told her that unless she could prove she was from BT, I’d end the call. She repeated herself once more and then I just hung up. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Had a right dodgy call from some chap claiming to be from an Indian tech support regarding a computer licence scam earlier today, 19th July 2016. I missed the first ring but picked up the second one. When I probed him about how he got hold of my details, he waffled on with a heavy Indian accent about having all the numbers for every computer across the UK. I pressed him on which computer licence he was on about, but he couldn't provide a straight answer. He then started jabbering on about some marketing nonsense. That’s when he really began to fluster. The conversation dragged on for around four minutes, and he wrapped it up by claiming he would be ‘locking down’ my computer licence post-haste and that I could expect another call from him soon, or I could ring him back myself. It was all quite baffling, and he abruptly hung up at the end. Quite the experience!

These calls are just trying to get you to ring them back so you cover their phone costs and they earn money. Don’t call back. If you do have to use a phone box to call them, you can see how much they’re making and keep it to 10p max, then give them a piece of your mind.

I’m so annoyed with this number constantly ringing me. Every time I tell them to stop calling, they just ignore me and even talk over me when I’m trying to tell them to go away. Honestly, I’m really fed up with it!!!

I got a call from someone with an Indian accent, but honestly, I could barely catch what he was saying. He kept asking for a particular person at my place, but I told him I had no idea who that was. I mentioned I’m on the TPS list, yet they refuse to take action against this firm. Apparently, they can’t do anything because they don’t know the company’s name! TPS can’t even verify the name, so reporting it feels like a waste. My advice? Just blow a loud whistle down the phone to annoy them. If anyone knows the company behind these calls, please share it so we can nail them!

Got a call from CMC about an accident from more than two years back, saying they were from the Legal Advice Bureau and calling from London. Funny thing is, they didn’t seem to realise it was a bank holiday here. They even said “have a good evening” when it was just 10 in the morning! Very odd.
