Some bloke with an Asian accent rang me claiming he was from the "Claims Department" and told me straight up I'd apparently been in some kind of accident over the past couple of years. I told him I had no idea why he was bothering me since my number's on the TPS list, and he just cut me off and hung up right then and there.

About 2:15pm on 18th Nov 2015, I answered the office phone and a bloke named Mark Wilson rang me. He had a strong Indian accent and said he was from Accident Compensation UK Limited. He started asking about an accident that supposedly happened in the last couple of years. He kept pressing for loads of details and even wanted mobile numbers, which I refused to share. The whole thing just felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call at work from a bloke who sounded Asian, telling me I’d been in some kind of crash - which was a total surprise! Didn’t even wait for him to finish before I slammed the phone down.

I've got no clue what they're saying; all I can make out is "Leroy? Leroy?" Before long, I just end up cutting the call. How utterly annoying!

They actually had my name and even my address, which is kinda creepy. Then they asked if I’m working full time or just part time. When I asked why they needed to know that, they just cut me off and hung up. I really hope they aren’t planning to try and break into my place or something!

Got a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Accident Claims team. He wouldn't say my name, saying it was all locked up in his insurance system. When I asked where he was calling from, he kept insisting he was in London and rattled off a London address pretty fast. I then asked him to be honest and give me his name, and suddenly a supervisor stepped in - also with the last name Wilson. I joked if they were family, and he snapped at me for wasting his time! Seriously? I tried calling back, but no one picked up... not that I was shocked.

When I asked him for specifics, he just said he'd keep calling me over and over until I gave him the info. They even rang my mobile, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number now. Definitely a scam.

My wife got a call earlier from an Asian man saying there was been an accident involving someone. I received a call today from someone who identified themselves as "THE Accident Investigator." Quite ironically, because I had recently won an accident claim, I assumed they were on the opposing side. However, my assumption proved to be incorrect when they mentioned that the accident in question was related to fishing. It became evident that this person was a complete imbecile. There is no need for a lengthy rant, as all they kept saying was, "Help, I need a doctor! I've had an accident, help!" I find their behavior highly suspicious and questionable. It would be best to avoid any further interaction with them.

Got a call this morning from someone claiming to be from ‘claims’, said there’d been an accident involving someone at my work but wouldn’t tell me who. I asked how I was meant to direct the call if he wouldn’t say the person’s name. He kept pushing that he needed to speak to the person involved, got a bit ridiculous so I just ended the call. I told the guy that the number he dialled was actually the hospital mortuary, and all we’ve got in there is dead bodies and a big fridge. I’ve got a call blocker on, so they’re blocked for good now. The caller identified himself as a representative from "Accident Compensation UK Ltd". However, records from Company House reveal that this company was dissolved on June 5th, 2012. During the call, the individual alleged that another company called Central Accident Claims in London had given them our phone number in relation to an accident.

I got a call from what seemed like a fake number, probably coming from India or somewhere nearby, maybe even abroad but pretending to be local. It felt like one of those accident claim scams right away. Best thing is not to chat or share any personal info. Just block the number and report it if you can. Definitely dodgy stuff!

This number has rung me several times so I finally picked up. The person on the line sounded Indian and claimed he was calling about a UK accident. I asked for the contact number so I could give them a ring back, but then he said the number was the very one he was calling from. When I pointed that out, he just ended the call on me.

Received a call from this number yesterday and then again today. The individual on the other end had a strong accent, attempting to convince me that I'd been involved in an accident - which is utterly ridiculous as I've been accident-free for over three decades! I honestly couldn't agree more with the previous comment. The way they write is just awful, like they don't even know how to use basic punctuation or words properly. It’s clear they’re just scammers making things worse for themselves. Anyone can spot a con when there’s replies raving about how great the service is - it’s usually a big giveaway.

Received a call from an unknown number, and just five minutes after, this one rang my house. They regaled me with the typical spiel about a supposed accident I’ve had in recent years. It’s all rather pointless, especially since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list.

02032878954 called me and when I asked where they got my number from, they said it was from a solicitor’s office. At the beginning, they claimed to be from some Accident Investigation Department. I’m on the TPS to avoid calls like this, but they just seem to find a way to bypass it. What’s the use of being on the list if they keep harassing like this?

Got a call saying I’d been in some accident, but told him I’m on the TPS and it didnt stop him. Kept asking where he’d found my info but he jus wouldn’t say. His accent was hard to catch, sounded foreign or something. In the end, I told him I was gonna report the call cause they’re trying to scam people.

Received a call today from an individual who had a bit of an Asian accent. He claimed to be ringing from an accident repair service. I made it clear right from the off that I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service and should not be receiving any sales or cold calls. He insisted that he was calling from his home in London and wasn’t affiliated with a call centre. My elderly dad, who’s 73 and quite poorly, got a call from this number saying he’d been in a car crash. The thing is, my dad’s never even driven and doesn’t have a licence! He told them they were wrong, but they kept going on like he just forgot because of his age. It’s so frustrating and upsetting that they’d bother an old man like that.

Sometimes I cheekily tell them they're paying £2.50 every minute just for the laugh and then have a laugh about how much I 'love' their constant ringing. Makes it a bit more bearable!

Got a call at my job from some bloke from India, he claimed I was in a car crash and wanted me to confirm some details. When I told him I wasn’t sharing anything, he started swearing at me, calling me a b##ch, and kept pushing for my info. I just said no and ended the call. Lately, we’ve been getting loads of calls from marketers and to be honest, it can get a bit annoying. But just because they’re calling doesn’t mean they’re all scams or nuisances. Some of the callers actually have something useful to offer. For example, I spoke with someone from an accident claims team recently and realised they were trying to reach out to people involved in accidents to offer their help. It made me see that they're actually doing a decent job offering their services. My own experience was quite positive, and I’m genuinely grateful for the help they provided.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with the Accident Investigation Department, sounded Indian or Pakistani. When I told him I hadn’t been in any accident, he asked if someone in my family had. I firmly said no, then he just hung up. I’ve already reported it to the Information Commissioner. Turns out this number is linked to something they call an ‘ongoing investigation’, but it really smells like a scam. The call might be coming from overseas despite the UK number showing up. Could very well be a phishing attempt. If this number rings you up, best report it straight away.

About twelve months back, I was getting bombarded with about three or four annoying calls each day from the usual lot - the PPI chancers, those endless surveys, and those dodgy computer virus scams. Then I picked up a BT8500 phone and honestly, not a single pesky call has made it through since. I looked it up on [#]expertreviews[###], just like you can, and they rave about it too. Really, it’s a gem!! No more irritating calls whatsoever!! Absolutely brilliant!!

This woman with a strange accent called and tried to explain, but she kept mumbling so I couldn’t really catch it. When I asked where she was ringing from, she said something about an accident investigation. I told her I hadn’t had any accident and wasn't interested, but she kept pushing that it was just an investigation. Eventually I just told her again I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

Got two calls from this number really close together. The first one cut out before I even got a chance to pick up. When it rang again, I finally answered but could hear a lot of chatter in the background, so I just ended the call straight away and put the receiver down. Some bloke rang up sayin' he was from some accident or claim company, but wouldn’t give me a proper name to ask for, just called me ‘madam’. I asked for the full company info since I’m on the TPS list, and he claimed to be from the Ministry of Justice, a government department in London. I recently got a call from this number that just cut off as soon as I answered. Out of curiosity, I decided to call back using my mobile. The person on the other end claimed to represent an accident helpline. I informed them that my landline is ex-directory and should not be in their records. She assured me they would take it off their list. However, I threw in a quick question - how could she possibly know to remove my landline when I was calling from another number? This seemed to throw her off a bit, leading her to start spouting their usual routine about accidents and compensation. I pointed out that they were breaking the law by calling me, but they didn’t seem to acknowledge my concern or confirm they’d cease contacting me. It was from someone claiming to be from an accident helpline or something of that sort.

Got a call showing a London number but when I picked up, there was a noticeable pause before someone from what sounded like a call centre in India spoke. The person claimed to be ringing about a crash I supposedly had last December. When I told her I hadn’t been in any accident, she asked if anyone in my family had been involved. I said no and then ended the call. Pretty sure it was some sort of phishing scam.
