I got a call from 02087253429 on 10/02/2021 about 12.21 pm. It was some robotic voice claiming to be from HMRC asking for my personal info like name and birthdate. Something felt off, and the voice sounded like someone new to the UK, maybe an Asian student. When I mentioned they sounded new to the country, they just cut off the call. Just a heads up, looks like a scam - watch out folks!

I reckon it’s some kind of robot voice scam. It’s proper irritating with all those daft messages about the cops (sounds very American). Just let your answering machine pick up, they won’t actually talk to you. It’s rubbish and annoying how often they ring.

Really grateful for everyone sharing their experiences about these calls, it’s good to realise I’m not alone in dealing with them. Since retiring, I’ve decided to just let any unknown numbers go straight to voicemail. My mates and family know to leave a message and say “hello, are you there?” and only then will I answer. It’s made things much more peaceful for me, and I reckon it drives those scammers mad, which cheers me up!

I've received a couple of calls from this number. The first was from a man claiming my insurance number had been frozen and prompted me to hit 1. The second call featured a woman who stated that HMRC was issuing a charge against me, also advising me to press 1. Both calls were clearly automated messages and no one in our household is associated with these issues. I chose to disregard them on both occasions.

In line with what others have mentioned, my elderly dad received a rather alarming voicemail claiming that HMRC is pursuing legal action against him. He couldn't pick up the call in time. Thankfully, he’s still quite sharp when it comes to these dodgy schemes. Just who are these lowlifes?!

02032872982 has been ringing me nonstop - at least four times today and a bunch yesterday too, even left voicemails. They claim the police are on to me, say my National Insurance is locked and I’ve got some legal action coming. Told me to press one if I wanted to chat with my ‘Caller Officer’ or something like that. The voice was proper English and quite posh. Got me thinking, although it’s clearly a con, I can totally see how older or worried folks might get fooled by this.

So I got a call from 020 32872982 claiming to be some law enforcement group - total scam but super convincing cause the automated voice sounded just proper British, no funny accent or anything. They told me they’d blocked my NI number or something. Seriously, what’s the BT and NI fraud team actually doing about these scammers? Does BT just hand over numbers to anyone without checking if they’re legit? Feels like they’re just helping fraudsters!

Today, I got three calls from 020 3287 2982, all in the morning (6th Jul 2019). They left identical voicemails saying some law enforcement group has frozen my National Insurance number and that I need to ring 1 to talk to my "case officer". Sounds like a total scam to me, so I'm just going to ignore it. I’ll probably report it to BT, but I doubt it’ll make any difference. Just received a rather alarming call at 11:55 on the 6th of July, 2019. The caller claimed that a lawsuit had been lodged against me and said that my national insurance number was put on hold. Seems like a dodgy attempt at scamming, particularly because they didn’t even bother using my real name!

I received a call from a man whose voice was rather formal, stating that a legal action had been initiated against me by HMRC-or something along those lines. He prompted me to "Press 1 for further information". Curiously, my name wasn’t mentioned at all, which left me feeling quite uneasy about the legitimacy of the call. I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up. It certainly reeked of a scam to me. I dread to think what might have transpired had I actually pressed that button.

I've had a couple of calls from this number today, the first one claiming that my NI number was on hold. Then, at precisely 5:05pm on a Saturday, another call came through threatening me with a lawsuit! Both times they urged me to press 1 for further details, yet they didn't bother to ask for a specific person's name or mention which company was ringing me. I chose to let it go to voicemail and I'll just be deleting it without a second thought.

Got three calls today from this number 02032872982. They claim they’re from some law enforcement dept and say there’s a lawsuit filed against me. They never actually mention my name though, which seems a bit odd. They keep telling me to press 1 to talk to a “case officer” but I’m pretty sure pressing that would just rack up crazy charges. Today we got about 6 calls from this number, 02032872982, saying our National Insurance number was frozen. My husband called them back to ask who they were, but they just hung up on him. Strange and quite worrying really.

It’s about time the police and phone providers took action against these scammers who constantly harass folks. I’m aware it’s all a con, but plenty of vulnerable people could easily get caught up in their tricks and panic. They left a voicemail on my answer machine - my husband will check it later and then I’ll just bin it and block the number. I’m sure they’ll try calling again from somewhere else though. We’ve got four adults living here, yet they didn’t even specify who they were after, which just makes the whole thing seem even more suspicious.
