Got a voicemail saying HMRC wanted me to ring them back. When I called, some bloke with a foreign accent picked up and said I owed £3000 in taxes. I told him I was poorly in hospital and really didn’t care. He kept pushing for the money. I messed about by giving him a made-up bank card and sort code, then he accused me of scamming him and hung up after I kept trying different fake details while chuckling away.

Got a voicemail left, which you don’t see much from scammers these days. The tone was more and more agressive, started talking about HMRC and gave a tight deadline with a phone number to ring back. Proper old-school scammy vibes, no imagination at all. Definitely a fail, zero points. TPS don’t help here, obviously. Best to just block or if you fancy being kind, call and waste their time. Also can’t help but smile at the Hindi bit, classic!

Theyre also doing number spoofing, I got a call pretending to be from Devon and Cornwall police telling me to stay put as an officer with an arrest warrant for supposed tax fraud from 2012 to 2016 was on the way. Theyve also faked an HMRC number. Lucky me, Im still out and about! :-)

So, i got a call on Saturday with some recorded message from Sarah threatening me, saying i had to pay £4890 or the cops would be after me in 2 hours. I called back just to have a bit of fun today. Rang the number 02032861973 and a guy claiming to be officer Michael answered (yeah right!). I started speaking in Hindi, pretty angrily, and the idiots on the other end replied back in Hindi too, totally tripping themselves up. Made my day!

So it kept going on, they just hung up, but i kept calling back like 20 times using different phones and talked to loads of different people (all sounded like they had some Indian-American accent). I got pretty annoyed and gave them a piece of my mind. Seems like they’re some kinda amateur scammers based somewhere in India or another Hindi-speaking country. Told the bloke to go get some proper education and find a decent job (maybe pay some taxes too). He just said ‘i don't understand’. Made me laugh quite hard. But honestly, this kinda thing really needs to be put to an end.

FAKE CALL - got an automated voicemail claiming I owed money to HMRC and should contact a solicitor, warned me not to ignore or police would get involved. Didn’t bother ringing them back. I’ve done fraud work with credit cards before, this is just another usual scam call.

Just like everyone else here, my partner got a voicemail that sounded like some kind of automated message, saying it was urgent and he had to get in touch with Sarah Wilson at HMRC or else face legal trouble. He rang back from another phone and some guy with an Asian accent answered saying it was HMRC. It just didn’t sit right with him so he hung up. Then I decided to check the number online and sure enough, it was a scam.

Got a call from this number about an hour back, it was some robotic voice saying I owe money and if I dont get in touch they’ll send a solicitor. Said they were from hmrc, sounded really intimidating. I’ve blocked the number and reported it to HMRC now.

Got a missed call about an hour ago and they actually left a voicemail. Some automated woman said she was Officer Sarah Wilson from HM Revenue and Customs. She said I shouldn’t ignore the call and if me or my lawyer didn’t ring back, there’d be legal trouble. Honestly, it’s rubbish - don’t pay any attention to their threats and definitely don’t ring them back.

My mum got a voicemail saying it was from HMRC saying she had to ring back or else there’d be serious trouble. Since she’s away, I phoned them and got a really rude bloke with an Asian accent. I told him I worked for HMRC (totally not true, haha) and told him the call was being recorded for the cops. He got really angry and started swearing at me. Just block this number and don’t trust a word they say!! Make sure to warn anyone who might be easily fooled - it’s terrible if someone got caught out by this scam.

On the afternoon of Saturday, the 18th of August, 2028, I received a rather alarming call at 14:09. It was a pre-recorded message urging me to return the call without delay, claiming to be from HMRC and threatening legal repercussions for some alleged outstanding payment. Naturally, I felt compelled to call back right away. I ended up chatting with a chap named Umar, who had a distinct accent that seemed to suggest Indian origins. I detailed my financial predicament to him, and after asking me to hold for a moment to consult with his supervisor, he returned to inform me that my supposed debt would be completely cleared, as they acknowledged that I was unable to make any payments. Quite an unexpected turn of events!

I dialled 141 then 02032861973 around 30 times just for a laugh and to annoy whoever's on the other end. I really can't stand scam calls and get a kick out of messing with them a bit. They left me a dodgy computer voice message before, which was pretty rubbish.

Got a call from 02032861973 on Saturday morning around 8:30. They said they were Sarah Wilson from HMRC, but it honestly sounded like a robotic message, like someone used a computer voice. I reckon HMRC wouldn't really go that cheap or bother with a recorded call like that. Didn't fancy waiting ages to talk to them on the phone, so I looked it up here and yep, turns out it's a total scam running on loads of different numbers. Be careful!

Got a call early Saturday morning around 8:30 from someone saying they were Sarah Wilson at HMRC. The voice was definitely a robotic one, sounded like one of those text-to-speech things. I doubted HMRC would really hire a robot to call people and wasn't keen on hanging around on hold for ages, so I looked the number up here. Turns out it's a huge scam and they've been using loads of different phone numbers.

Just like some others here, I got a call from Sarah Wilson claiming to be from HMRC, voicemail left from 02032861973. I rang back and ended up speaking to a guy, sounded like an American but with an Indian accent, named John Anderson. He said I owed £4890 and that it was some HMRC scam, threatening arrest today!

This number rang me earlier today, claiming I had unpaid taxes from 2013 to 2017 and that I needed to get in touch with a solicitor. They also said the police would be calling me in a couple of hours to arrest me. Really unsettling. I’ve passed the details on to both the police and Action Fraud.

Got a voicemail from someone claiming to be Sarah Wilson at HMRC saying I had to ring her back or else. Honestly, do they really believe I’d fall for that? Just wanted to warn others not to give out any info to these scammers. I’ve also filed a report with Action Fraud, but this is the third time they’ve called me. Not sure how they even got this number, it’s a work line, not my personal phone. I keep getting calls meant for the previous owner, so maybe his number got recycled and ended up on some scammer’s list.

Got a call from 02032861973 claiming to be from HMRC, threatening me with legal trouble. Total scam! I told them I’d only talk further if they repeated my National Insurance number, and as soon as I said that, they just cut the call. Pretty shady.

02032861973 rang me and left a message about some supposed serious issue. When I phoned back, they claimed I owed over £3000 to HM Revenue and warned if I didn’t pay up, I’d be dragged into court, have my passport frozen, bank account blocked and even lose my driving licence. I told them I had no money to clear any debt, then this bloke said he’d speak to an accounts manager and get back to me. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a voicemail from some automatic system claiming to be HMRC, saying me or my lawyer has to ring back or there’ll be trouble. So, I phoned the number, and some guy with an Indian accent who said his name was Michael answered, claiming he was from H - Revenue and Customs. When I asked him to repeat the name, he just hung up on me. Now he’s not picking up any calls from me.

Got a message from someone called Sarah Wilson about HMRC, trying to frighten me. Honestly, they should be paying me since I've been taxed way too much. I’ve received a few calls from this number, and it’s just an automated voicemail spoken in a transatlantic accent, claiming to be pursuing legal matters for HMRC. I decided to reach out to HMRC directly, and they confirmed they don’t operate with automated messages like that. I have a strong suspicion this is some sort of scam. Best to be cautious!
