Got a ring from some bloke in London claiming he needs to send me £7500. I told him just to go ahead and send it, but it's clearly some kind of scam. Just be careful, you won’t get a chance to ring them back anyway.

Just like a few others here, my elderly mum almost got caught out by a scam. It was a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from some London court despatch team with a cheque for £2850 about HSBC/HBOS. He said he wanted to send someone round today to collect her ID and get her to sign papers and all that. Thankfully, I turned up just in time to stop it!

I've been called by these people twice within a year now, and it's plain to see they're just trying to scam you. Definitely stay clear of them if you want to keep your money safe.

Someone called saying I had a cheque waiting for £2560 and all they needed was £175 on an iTunes voucher. No way am I falling for that. I’m just playing along to waste their time and hopefully stop them targeting anyone who might actually believe it.

Got a call last Thursday from someone who sounded Asian, named Martin, saying I was due a PPI refund of £2850. He mentioned something about the London County Court, but it was hard to catch properly. Tried ringing back but the number just wouldn’t go through.

Got a call just like the one mentioned about needing a £250 iTunes voucher. It all sounded pretty believable, sadly there'll be someone out there who falls for it.

Got a call from this number too, saying I could get £2,750... Fingers crossed the cops have enough time to deal with these scammers.

So I got a voicemail earlier from the number 0203 286 1930 saying I should ring them back because I was owed a refund of £8850. Thought it sounded dodgy, so I googled the number and found this site - cheers everyone for the heads up. Just to be clear, I didn’t bother calling them back.

Got a call like this earlier today. When I asked about those iTunes vouchers, he didn’t seem too happy and I told him I’d call the cops if he didn’t stop.

Got a call from this number recently. They claimed I was owed £5800 from some PPI cheque but to get it I have to send them £250 either by cheque or an iTunes voucher. What a joke. Definitely a scam!

Kept ringing me up saying I had PPI due £2850 but then wanted me to pay £250 for some iTunes card, total scam, dodgy lot.

This number keeps claiming they’re from the London City County Court, but I’m not convinced. Seems dodgy to me.

I got a call meant for my elderly family member while they were home luckily. Someone was saying they'd pay £2750 but asked for a cheque of £200 upfront when the item was delivered. It was really distressing for her, being so vulnerable.

I got a call from someone claiming to be a Delivery Officer, either Roger Smith or Steve Gardner, who already knew my name, phone number and address. They said I had a cheque for £2750 related to PPI. Then they told me I needed to buy £175 worth of iTunes vouchers before they could send the cheque over in person... seemed very fishy to me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the local court, said they had a cheque for £2850.37 about some PPI on a credit card. They said a Mr Richard White would come round to hand it over, but first I had to buy a £200 iPhone voucher. They told me to tell them the voucher code after buying it and then they'd bring the cheque. Felt fishy to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the London County Court telling me to ring a despatch line to get a cheque for £2,850 linked to a PPI claim on a credit card. Thing is, I've never looked into any PPI claims before so how could this be real and a cheque even be sent? Feels like a total scam to me...

Got a call saying I'd won some PPI claim from the County Court in London and they needed to come over to my house so I could sign some legal documents. Luckily, they only had the postcode of my old place, not where I live now!

Some bloke called Neil Scott rang me up saying he had a £3000 cheque for me and gave me a PPI reference number. Then, out of nowhere, he started talking about iTunes vouchers. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I got a call from someone who already knew my name, address, and phone number. They said I had a cheque waiting from some PPI thing, but then asked me to purchase iTune vouchers before they’d actually send the cheque to me. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.
