Since we don’t have BT broadband, I got a bit worried when my elderly mate got a call from this number while I was with them. I couldn’t quite figure out what they were after, so I asked for a callback number, the caller’s name (Alec), and his ID, which was 11021. As soon as I got home, I googled it and quickly realised it was a scam.

It’s really upsetting to see these people taking advantage of the elderly, not to mention anyone else who’s vulnerable.

Just got a call from someone named Peter saying there was some problem that wasn’t sorted and they’d switch off my service for a month. He never explained what the issue actually was! Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

Random call saying my line would be cut off for a month because of some IP security problem. I questioned it and got a number from them, plus they said BT would email me. The background noise was mental - really wish I'd just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from someone saying they were with BT, told me there was an issue with my IP address and gave me steps to fix it. Then they passed me onto a guy called Jason, who said his BT employee ID was BT786. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.
