I got this scary message on my laptop saying it was from Microsoft, telling me my IP was at risk. They kept pushing me to call this number and warned me not to turn off my computer at all. It felt really alarming and kinda threatening. So, I looked up the number online and landed on this site. I ended up logging out and restarting my router just to be safe. When I signed back on, everything looked fine, but then my iPad flagged that a bunch of my passwords might be breached. Not sure if that’s related or just a coincidence.

I experienced a rather perplexing situation that mirrors what someone else mentioned earlier. Out of the blue, a rather jarring recorded voice, sounding distinctly female, blared continuously, warning about some 'suspicious activity' and insisting that if we powered down our devices, we'd lose all our data. To top it off, a massive blue alert kept flashing on-screen, urging us to ring the number provided for added security and firewall installation. I advise you to steer clear of this!

My computer completely froze and then I received a notification suggesting I purchase firewall software to regain access. They advised me against turning the computer off during the process.

While I was working on my laptop, it suddenly got locked, and a message popped up asking me to ring a certain number for Microsoft support. A bloke answered claiming to be from Microsoft, sounding quite convincing. I let him take control to reboot my machine. He went on about finding loads of issues, which sounded pretty legit at first. Then he asked me to pay upfront to cancel my Norton antivirus and switch to McAfee, as well as fix all the problems. It started sounding dodgy, so I told him to ring me back the next day. Turns out, from what I’ve read, this was a total scam.
