Got a call from this number today 25/9/17, some bloke with an ‘asian’ accent claiming to be from 3 network. He kept going on about customers moaning about Smarty and ID services, seemed dead eager to get me to confirm my account and number info - proper annoying! I told him everything’s fine with my service, so what’s the deal then? He just hung up on me.

Just received a phone call that left me rather perplexed! The chap on the other end had an accent I simply couldn’t decipher. As I was going off on a bit of a tangent about my near accident sprinting down the stairs, he seemed to take it all in stride. I mentioned that the only person who uses my landline is my daughter, and I made it abundantly clear that he had no business ringing me! Surprisingly, he maintained his courtesy throughout, responding with a gracious "I apologise, madam... I shall ensure your details are removed." I still use a corded phone so I can hear it ring once, spot the phone icon with a red line, and know the caller’s been given a straight-up “buzz off” message!

A gentleman of Asian descent just rang me from this number a mere ten minutes prior, claiming to be from Windows Technical Support. He insisted I boot up my computer, alleging that someone was attempting to breach its security! He mentioned they had encountered numerous error notifications. When I probed him for further details about his location, he simply replied, "No rush, just go ahead and power on your computer." I decided to end the call then and there. Stay vigilant, folks!

I received a rather suspicious call where the caller claimed to be from TalkTalk. Then, out of the blue, a second call came through, this time asserting they were BT. After that, I was met with an eerie silence on the line, followed shortly by another BT call. The fifth time, I had had enough! I pushed back, making it quite clear that I recognised the ruse and promptly hung up on them. But, lo and behold, as soon as I cut the line, they rang back again, insisting that I listen to them and that they were indeed from BT. I warned him that I would be reporting them to the authorities for masquerading as BT. Quite a nerve, I must say!

They wanted to chat about my BT router, which I don’t even have. In the end, I just wasted their time on purpose and they hung up. I feel it’s necessary to mention that I possess a Hotpoint washing machine that's less than 8 years old, and I've confirmed my postcode as well as my age being over 21. If these intrusive calls keep coming, I might find myself being blunt with someone who really doesn't warrant it. To be honest, the purpose of such calls is puzzling; it seems all they want is for you to say "Yes" - supposedly to verify your identity for dubious reasons and potentially siphon money from your account. Although I’m not involved with any services that require voice recognition, from now on, I’ll be steering clear of agreeing to anything over the phone.
