Had a bloke claiming to be John from BT broadband on the phone, said there was an issue with my internet. I told him to stick to an honest job rather than trying to con folks out of their cash. Tried blocking the numbers but they keep calling from different ones nonstop.

Had a call earlier today, played along for a bit just to mess about and waste their time. The bloke got quite rude when I refused to let him access stuff on my computer. Then I got passed between a couple of others who kept pushing me to visit some website, something like acasersupport or similar. Eventually lost interest and just ended the call :)

Naturally, I couldn't resist having a bit of fun, so I spent a delightful five minutes chatting about the weather, his thoughts on the ongoing pandemic, what he had for breakfast that morning, and whether he’d managed a holiday lately. You know, just the usual chit-chat, as one does! Eventually, the topic shifted back to business, and he claimed I had 12 devices linked up. I chuckled and said I had at least 25! I did kindly ask him to send me the specifics via email, and lo and behold, our conversation was cut short. How splendid!

I received a call from a lady claiming to be from Virgin Media, stating that there was an issue with my broadband service. I recognised her voice since she'd reached out multiple times in the past. When I mentioned that Virgin had already clarified there was no problem, she became defensive. I pointed out that she was trying to pull a fast one, and just like that, she abruptly hung up before she could persuade me into anything dodgy. He kept saying he was from Virgin Media. I asked what he wanted. He said nothing, just warning me my internet was under attack from overseas. I told him I didn’t believe he was actually with VM. Then he just shouted “Go to hell! Go to hell!” and hung up on me.

I received a rather alarming call earlier that jolted me awake. The gentleman claimed to be representing Virgin Media and was addressing some supposed issues with my broadband connection. He queried whether I had shared my password with anyone - which I firmly denied. His next revelation was particularly concerning; he alleged that my IP address was being misused in California and that this involved my personal information. Given my profession in IT, I questioned his credentials, pointing out I don't use a static IP and asked who he thought he was. I made it abundantly clear that I wouldn't grant access to my technology, declaring that he was just a scam artist. In response, he accused me of being discourteous, arguing that he was merely trying to assist, insinuating that it was foolish of me not to know that all computers possess an IP address. After that, he fell silent. Even in a sleepy state, I refused to be duped by such deceitful tactics. What a dreadful way to spoil my morning!

This is clearly a scam. The person I spoke to refused to answer any of my questions. A peculiar request was made for access to my mobile phone, despite the fact that I had called a landline number.

Got a call from Virgin Media saying my router’s been reporting some dodgy activity on my network. I asked if they could just reset my Sky router and fix it up for me. There was this loooong awkward pause, then an Indian lady finally said yeah sure, we can do that. And then she just hung up. Absolute joke! 🤣

Got a call from a company claiming to be Virgin Media, but sounds dodgy and from Asia. Looks like they mightve hacked into Virgin Medias system or somthing. When I wouldnt share my account details, the caller said, “What’s the problem, why won’t you give me your private info?” I asked him straight if he was really from Virgin Media, then he just ended the call. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Said they were from Virgin Media. Took ages before anyone replied, which tells me it was one of those autodiallers. If it was genuinely Virgin Media sorting something out, I doubt they’d be using an automated system. I just ended the call right after they said who they were.

I recently received a call that was apparently from Virgin Media regarding our internet service. There was a considerable lag between when I answered and when they began speaking - during that wait, I could hear a cacophony of chatter from what sounded like a busy call centre in the background. Once they confirmed their identity, I promptly ended the call and swiftly added their number to my list of blocked contacts.

Complete scam, honestly. A bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from Virgin Media, telling me there was some Nigerian activity on my internet. Told me to type in some commands but I knew it was dodgy and refused, then he just ended the call. You could hear loads of people chatting on the other line like some scam call centre.

Normally I’d get annoyed but didn’t bother today. Last time someone said they were from Virgin Media, I asked if they wanted remote access to my computer and he said "yeah", so I just said "no chance". Do people really get caught out by these scams?

Got a call from this number yesterday, some bloke pretending to be Virgin Media. Decided to mess about a bit, had a laugh for a few minutes before he just hung up. The guy sounded Indian, his English wasn’t great, and there was loads of background noise like you'd hear in those busy deli scenes from movies.
