Im so tired of getting these pointless scam calls. I dont even wait for them to say a word, I just hang up as soon as I pick up, sometimes you hear the line click off before they even start talking. Who needs all these annoying calls anyway?

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was Andy, sounded Asian, claimed I could get free gear because I’m a senior. Pretty creepy how he already had my full name and DOB. I’ve had calls like this before from other numbers, so I just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from BT, telling me my Direct Debit had supposedly expired. Said he was checking info that showed a DD under my name had lapsed. Complete rubbish since none of the bills are under my name. Right from the beginning, he sounded rude and by the time he figured out I wasn’t fooled, he got even more aggressive. He ended up threatening to disconnect us and just hung up. Watch out for this one.

This morning at 8:31, I received a call where I only caught a strange sound - sort of like a weird noise or mumbling - for a brief moment before it suddenly ended. It's not the first time either; I've noticed several calls from 0203 numbers all coming right at 8:31am. Honestly, it's pretty annoying.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Virgin Media, trying to update a phone number. They had a really heavy Asian accent and somehow already knew who lived here. I wasn’t having any of it, told them off and ended the call quick. This number looks dodgy and is probably linked to some scam. Avoid it!

I've received three calls now-someone speaks for a moment and then the line goes dead. What on earth possesses folks to behave like this? As an older person dealing with health concerns, it really unsettles me!

What a right sham! I just had the most amusing encounter with an apparent scammer who claimed to be from BT. This fella, sounding distinctly Indian or maybe Pakistani, rang me up insisting he needed to confirm my Lloyds Bank Direct Debit for my BT services. I thought I'd humour him a bit and tossed out some fake card details to see how far he'd stretch it. It was rather amusing as he already had my name, address, and phone number! Funny thing is, I don’t even bank with Lloyds! Then, he went on to ask for my date of birth, which I wisely countered with a fabricated one. The cheek of it all! He then had the audacity to offer me a whopping 50% discount for five years on my account - how generous of him! Next, they handed me off to some ‘closer manager’ who started whining about my card details not working (Ha! Classic!). They wanted me to confirm, “Could I please provide the CCV on the back?” I mean, really! Long story short, I terminated the call after 15 minutes of frittering away their time. They really do think they can just sponge off the elderly; it’s quite disgraceful!

I had a rather annoying encounter with a caller who became increasingly irate after I hung up on them just the once. In the heat of the moment, I ended up revealing my card number. Initially, I thought I was conversing with BT about a discount I was supposed to receive due to my age - being over 60 and all - but it quickly dawned on me that the chap on the line wasn't affiliated with BT at all. My nephew had warned me that they never request any card information during a phone call, which made me realise I had been duped. What a palaver! Cheers, Denise
